They are the ones who installed our furnace and air conditioning unit. They are the ones that I pay to have them maintained. They do a good job.  They know the system because they put it in. The price is reasonable, normal. They come twice a year and if we have an emergency they come quickly. One thing I like about them, they don't try to sell me more stuff.

I had a very long ordeal with them for heating and air conditioning. But ultimately, after several years, a new management came through and replaced our whole system, which never worked in the first place. It never worked well. So ultimately, I have very good things to say about them. I was frustrated with them in the beginning. They're a very good company. I would give them a total thumbs up because they stood by their product. I was working with them for five years. Initially, during 2004 they put in the incorrect size. It was not big enough to handle our house. We had them service us. They constantly had to come out. They tried everything they could and then finally I think a new President took over and he just said, "You know what. Let's just get it done. Let's do the right thing and let's replace it to a better capacity that's more suitable for the square footage of the house." That's exactly what he did, at no cost for us. Ultimately, the system worked really well. It always felt too hot in the summer. It was for a condo and we had a house. They fixed it and their service people are super nice. Our system was always serviced by them, not matter what, in spring and winter. People that they would send were always very professional and very kind.

Southcoast Heating and Air Conditioning is a company that offers the highest customer service. We had them service our old units on several occasions and found them to be both friendly and fair, and when it was time to purchase new heating and air conditioning units, they were the only company we considered. Shelley, who works in the office, is wonderful to work with and is always responsive to questions and concerns. Sule, who sold us the unit, is friendly and low-key, making certain to offer all of the options and explain them fully. Ryan, who installed the unit, is very knowledgeable and well trained, also extremely good-natured, as he installed the unit on a very hot day. After the installation, Shelley explained to us how the HERS testing, now required in California, would work, and she coordinated schedules between Ryan and the testing company, and then explained to us how to complete the permit process with the city. We highly recommend this company.

Don't even bother with this company. The technician tried to present me with an invoice and he had done no work. He charged $95 to supposedly clear the primary drain line using a power vac. He never tested the system to see if the repair was complete. It was not. He left the work area in disarray - I had to clean up. Work was performed on a Friday, so had to go entire weekend with water from the A/C running down my outside wall. Called in Monday morning, reported the problem, and was told that the person I needed to talk to was busy. But she would call me right back after she got off the phone. Hours passed. Call someone else for your heating and cooling needs.

This was a mid range price quote for a Trane. The Trane air conditioner has functioned quietly and flawlessly since the installation last spring. Ironically the air conditioner did not increase the our monthly heating bill when compared with using the whole house fan (but is much cooler - note that we still use the whole house fan when the temperature drops below 76 at night). The installation was accomplished quick and professionally. I recommend Southcoast Heating and Air.
