The owner told me that I did not have the right equipment for him to clean the filter.  I needed some sort of adapter, and he made it clear to me, that I should have had that stuff, so I suggested he come back at another time when I was able to purchase those items so he could clean the filter.  I think that as the owner of a pool company, he should have had those items on his truck.  Also, I've had others clean my filter, in the past, and they never suggested that I buy certain items for them to clean the filter...they all had all they needed with them, and never burdened me to go find the backwash hose, etc to do their job. I was very disappointed.  Maybe he was just having an "off" day???  Don't know, but won't have him back again to find out.

I told you it would create a bit of a mess and you told me you didn't want me to clean the filter if that was the case. You suggested I come back but the deal you purchased was for $45 service call. I came out and offered to clean the filter. You refused when I told you about the messy process. I'm not going to come back a second time for free. It's not worth my time to come out twice for $45."

On 03/02/2015 we discussed two possible issues to use this Big Deal for, one was for a valve replacement and the other was for a filter clean.  I had advised him that the valve had issues and might need replaced and that the filter also needed cleaning.  He quoted me a price to replace the valve, including labor $65-75.00.  On 03/03/2015, I texted  him and asked him if we could use the Big Deal towards the filter cleaning and if the valve was broken we would pay the extra $65-75.00 to fix that issue.  He replied that evening and ok’ed the proposition to use the Big Deal towards the cleaning of the filter, but stated that he would not be able to schedule the filter cleaning for another week or two.  He came out on the 03/04/2015 and realized he didn’t have the correct part to fix the valve and stated he needed to come back the following day with the correct part to fix it.  He did come back the next day and fixed the valve and charged us $55.00.  We tried to schedule the filter cleaning for the next three weeks and couldn’t get a time from him that was less than a month out from our original request.  We decided to use a different service provider to do the cleaning and cancel the Big Deal that we purchased.  When I tried to cancel the Big Deal, I was told by Angie’s List that he had already redeemed the voucher.  I contacted him and asked why the voucher had been redeemed and he stated that the first time he came out he diagnosed the problem and that was $45.00 for the diagnostic fee and the second time he came out was to fix the valve and that was the separate charge for $55.00.  He stated he had applied the voucher towards the diagnostic fee.  This had already been diagnosed before he ever came out and actually while we were on the phone.  He was going to stop by and see if he already had the part in order to fix the valve.  I responded on 03/23/2015 and reiterated that he quoted me $55.-65.00 to fix the valve, which included his time plus the estimate for the part and I had specifically asked if it was ok to use the Big Deal voucher towards the filter cleaning.  He has not ever responded to that message.

I was able to correctly diagnose your problem over the phone, however, I still had to come out to see what kind of check valve you had and to check the size of your plumbing so I could get the proper size check valve. Not all check valves are the same size. That was a $45 service call. The second time I came out to your house I installed the new check valve and charged you $55 for parts and labor. I agreed to clean your filter but told you I wasn't going to be able to clean it for a few more weeks. You were the one who texted me and told me you had hired someone else to clean the filter because you couldn't wait a few more weeks. Bottom line is I fulfilled my end of the bargain. I'm sorry you don't see it that way."

Ryan was able to show up the day I called and troubleshoot the problems.  He ordered the parts and came back in a couple days to fix everything. Very efficient, prompt and professional!
I will definitely call him with any future issues my pool and spa have.

Showed up earlier than he said, so I was not able to be there.  Caused by his schedule.  Said would return few days to change filter.  I do not know if that was done.  Personable but never felt the job - a simple one admittedly - was very important.  Did provide an estimate for changing pump system, but no follow up.  Had impression he thought I was fishing, and not a serious possible customer.  It seemed too that he was very busy, in a busy period for all pool service people.  Service provided at a rental unit (a house) we own.

I called for an estimate on weekly pool service. Unfortunately, we have been through numerous pool service providers in the last few years. Ryan immediately came by the house and went above and beyond to help fix our current problem of a green pool ( caused by lack of consistent maintenance from our current provider). He brushed the walls and tile, shocked the pool and cleaned the filter which had obviously not been done in some time. He offered to do all of that at no cost. He was knowledgable about salt pools and our Aqualogic system. Ryan listened to all of my concerns and addressed our problem. He followed up with me later that week to see how the pool looked. I was very impressed with that. I would recommend him to anyone looking for pool service.

He came into our backyard without knocking on our door and he didn't tell me verbally or in writing what exactly he put into our pool. He also had no knowledge of pool heaters and couldn't answer any questions I had on the subject.

Since your pool was so low on water the pump was sucking in air and not priming correctly. I have no idea what you are talking about regarding your heater. I was there because you purchased the Big Deal which only covers a service call or filter clean. It doesn't include fixing a 30 year old heater with a pool that's low on water and green."

You purchased a Big Deal and I came out and fixed the leak that was coming from you salt system, that fulfilled my end of the agreement. You also wanted your filtered cleaned, however, that wasn't part of the Big Deal. If you would like to have your filtered cleaned there will be a charge of $90."

He is outstanding. He is on time and he has a good attitude. He goes the extra mile. I’m impressed with this kid. He is definitely a winner. He’s come every time. When he couldn’t come on a Friday, he came on a Saturday on his own time. He wants to build his business and he is serious about it. He keeps the place clean. I couldn’t give him a more glowing report. He is awesome. The price is pretty close to being reasonable.
