Installation of the water heater was not done properly. The drain for the water heater is located behind a steel post, which must be modified before draining. The Drain Pan is too large for the heater base. In order to turn the gas on and off the plumber took a hammer and bent the side of the pan. The earthquake straps are loose. This could have been resolve by placing a spacer or washers between eyelets on the straps. The pan drain must be modified to allow the water to leak on the garage floor and not the water heater base.

My water heater broke a pipe and leaked all over my neighbor's unit. This happened late at night - so bright and early next morning I called Decade Plumbing. Michael got right on it. They had a new water heater to me that same day. They had to carry that heavy thing up lots of stairs. Since the area needed to dry out and I was travelling for the holidays 2 days later we decided to install the new unit only when I returned. Michael and his son very exceptional, putting me at ease and I could tell they knew what they were doing. He did not want any money up front. His fee was reasonable.
