SEARS AUTO

Sears ran "diagnostics" and said the battery was bad and needed to be replaced.
The price they quoted seemed unreasonable, they wanted to charge us $20 for diagnostics in addition to a new battery at $120. 
I told them, "No way. I'll take the car elsewhere". Elsewhere happened to be my garage. So I jumped the battery and took the car home.
To make a long story short, there was corrosion on the battery terminals and the positive terminal was a little loose. I cleaned the terminals and tightened the terminals down and the car started up as normal. The battery was fine. I should have never taken the car to Sears. I assumed the battery was bad when it wasn't.
In addition to trying to sell me a new battery I didn't need, Sears broke the hood latch on the inside of my daughters 2004 Honda Civic and forgot to tell us. We took the car back to Sears and the auto repair manager refused to fix it, saying that we did it. Needless to say, I will never do business with Sears ever again. The place has gone downhill, fast. Caveat Emptor at Sears Auto Center!

There service has really gone down hill and now I will not take any of my cars to them for service.

Brakes sounded screechy on my way home from work. Got home and my wife had me take the car in since we would be leaving for a road trip that weekend. I arrived at Sears at approximately 6:45 p.m. Their auto department inspected my brakes and let me know that at least two of the brakes would need replacing ASAP. I asked for an estimate on all four brakes, which they gave me. I then had them go ahead and replace all four brakes. They were able to inspect and replace the brakes before their closing time which was 8 p.m. I appreciated that they did not make me come back to do the work.
