BMO Kitchen & Bath Renovations

I met Mike, the owner of BMO Kitchen and Bath, and his team 8 years ago when he was doing a kitchen and bath remodel at my daughters house. We were all very happy with the work they did and decided to hire Mike and the BMO team for a full remodel of our home. This included remodeling the kitchen and 3 bathrooms, installing new cabinets, new plumbing new lighting and new flooring throughout most of our house. When we could not find cabinets to fit, Mike built beautiful cabinets himself. 7 years have passed since this remodel was done and everything Mike and BMO did still works great and looks great. We found Mike to be very honest, knowledgeable, reliable and easy to work with. He respected our opinion and was always available to give us his thoughts on how to improve our project and what products to use. We have been so please with Mike and the BMO team that we have used them for all construction and repair jobs since that time. We have also happily recommended Mike and the BMO Kitchen and Bath team to all our family and friends. They are very knowledgeable, very professional and a pleasure to work with.

We have worked with Mike Burcea at BMO for maybe 20 years now. He has replaced full roofs, rebuilt walls and ceilings, and skillfully tiled bathroom floors and walls, he has refinished old wood floors, he has re-plastered our 100 year old curved living room ceiling, he has built fences for us, and many, many other jobs for our multiple rental properties.

We met with Mike from BMO Kitchen and Bath to discuss a complete renovation of our master bath . Mike listened to our ideas. but was also very responsive with good ideas on our renovation plans, He laid out a detailed plan for accomplishing the work. Throughout the renovation process he and his staff were very careful to protect the rooms that were not under renovation and communicated thoroughly with us on every step of the process. Mike was very hands on with very frequent visits to our home to carefully monitor the progress and quality of each step of the renovation and we were delighted with the finished product. We give Mike and BMO Kitchen and Bath a five star rating and will definitely use him for a future kitchen renovation.

The remodel went great! Mike did high quality work to demo, install new electrical and plumbing, new shower and floor tile, new shower door, and new paint throughout. Mike and his crew were responsive to our needs, did great professional work, and delivered a great new bathroom that we love!

The work was fine, the issues was in the details and communication. He was recommended to install a countertop for me. We agreed on the price and he sent the quote. When he came to do the measure, he mentioned that he needed half of the mo yes, which was fine, and he only took check, but card. Not knowing this and not living in the house he was working on I had to travel to my residence to get a check. When the install was done, the countertop didn’t have an over hang like every other kitchen counter I have ever seen. When I asked him about it, he said “ that’s just how I do it”. If he does countertops different than the industry standard it should have been explained in the quote.

This was the second bathroom we had Mike and his guys remodel. As before, they did an excellent job for a fair price. Mike is very good at communications, checking in person most days and by phone if he didn't stop by. He does a lot of the work personally and has a steady crew. They did a total demo of a 1929 bathroom and updated electrical/plumbing/drywall/tile including a new storage/linen cabinet and built-in medicine cabinet. Mike checks in if there are any questions, for instance tile layout, to ensure there is no miscommunication. Really a pleasure to deal with, highly recommend

I cannot say enough good things about Mike Burcea and B.M.O. Remodeling. I do not believe you can get a better company to do your remodeling work. Our bathroom was just completed today, and I could not be happier. A bad experience with our kitchen remodel last year convinced me that I needed a builder who communicated well, who cared about the quality of the work, who took responsibility for the project, and who listened to what I needed. From the first visit onward, Mike was responsive to questions, ready to come up with ideas where necessary, straight-forward, honest, kind, etc. He and the wonderful crew he brought in were all polite, hard-working, and interested in doing the best job possible. If I ever have any other remodel work to do, I now know exactly where to go: B.M.O.!

Mike and his crew were clean, thorough and precise in the demolition and tile work. Mike communicated with us about all reasons for needing to adjust the work. His crew tried very hard to minimize their presence in the house, even entering and exiting through the bathroom window so they wouldn't tromp through the house constantly. The shower looks really nice...all the grout lines and spacing look tidy. We wish it could've gone a little quicker but that's not a big deal. We were happy with the work.

Mike and his crew did an excellent job from start to finish. Everything was done in a timely and professional manner and the finished product looks beautiful! They do all the plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and painting themselves. They started early each day and finished within the time estimate despite extra work required for an unexpected plumbing issue. Mike was great to work with and I would definitely hire BMO for future projects!

It went great. This was my third time hiring Mike and his work turned out amazing. He did electrical, plumbing, drywall, floors and doors. Keep up the good work Mike.

Mike was great at every step of the process from the initial bid to the project completion. Everyone on his team did an excellent job; electrical, plumbing, carpentry, tile and paint. Mike did some of the work himself and checked the work done by everyone else. He was very responsive and personable. He was open to questions and involved us whenever there was a question or issue. When the inevitable changes arose, he provided a fair price for both additions and subtractions--the latter I find to be very rare. In summary, we couldn't be happier with the work or the experience working with Mike.

We interviewed 4 contractors to update our decades-old kitchen and Mike’s professionalism, experience, and honesty about what was realistically possible to stay within our budget and pass inspections while still getting the kitchen that we want, stood out from the rest. We knew instantly that we wanted to work with him. We hired Mike in December and he started the job in mid-January. Although we kept the basic foot print of our kitchen, everything was torn down and replaced. We did manage to stay fairly close to our budget; some minor adjustments were made along the way, but we were so relieved it was nothing major - just additional reinforcement for safety & longevity, so well worth it. There were a few unavoidable delivery delays (due to rough weather up north and back east) but Mike kept us informed and worked around them, still managing to complete the job in 7 weeks.6-8 was the prediction. Mike kept good records, gave us receipts for every payment (we paid as we went for each stage of construction), and he always explained everything. My husband and I have never had any major renovations before, so we were obviously newbies, but Mike was patient and understanding. He honored each reasonable request and made a good argument for the ones that wouldn’t be worth the investment. He made clear to us in the beginning “don’t be afraid to ask for what you want, because you won’t be happy unless you do.” Even if I couldn’t do absolutely everything, Mike made sure I never felt I was compromising and often came up with a better solution. Mike and his right hand man, the polite & hardworking Joseph, and all of the other subs always showed up on time and were courteous and professional. Some of the days were long, so I didn’t always mind if they weren’t able to clean up every single day. If a cleaned-up workspace is important for you, just let Mike know. I noticed in some of these other reviews, they complement the cleanup, so Mike will know if it’s a priority of yours. As long as it’s clean when the job is done, that’s all we cared about - and it was. Mike even came back after all the work was finished to make any tweaks necessary. He even went out of his way to get me a touch-up kit to keep the cabinets looking beautiful for years to come. I know this is long, but renovations are a big deal and there are so many things to consider. Fortunately, we picked the right person for the job and every moment I spend in my brand new kitchen makes me grateful that we did. I highly recommend you consider BMO for your next big job. I know we will!

I contacted Mike on a Saturday and he immediately came out to my home due to the urgency. He was very knowledgeable and informed me what was wrong and the costs. I have always contacted him over the years as he is exceptional not only in his work, but communicating well. He cares a lot about his customers is very personable. He does not only work on homes, but he has done work at the federal government, companies and other businesses. I would highly recommend for any job!!!

Mike and his team were extremely professional, clean and detail oriented. Always punctual and flexible in an instant when needed. Also, Mike and his team are just plain nice and courteous gentlemen! I have personally had three previous full bathroom restorations in my life and Mike was by far the best contractor I have a ever dealt with. Mike is our go to contractor. He remodeled our kitchen and both bathrooms in our old house and did an excellent job. He has a great attention to detail and can solve any issues that come up. We were having an issue with our second water heater in our new house tripping the fuse. I had 3 other workmen come out and none could solve the issue. We had a plumber an electrician and a contractor look at it. The last guy wasted multiple appointments trying different things none of which worked. The only reason I didn’t call Mike in the first place was because i thought it was too small a job for him. Anyway, I finally had him take a look and he figured out the issue in about 10 minutes. Whoever did the wiring for it used a gauge that was too small for the heater. Mike sourced a hard to find water heater that draws less power and installed that one instead. As it would’ve been too involved to rewire that part of our house. Our basement bathroom works perfectly now! I highly recommend using Mike for any of your needs.

Mike and his team were a dream to work with. We did a high end kitchen remodel with new cabinets, Wolf/Sub-Zero appliances, new floor and counter tops. Mike always showed up on time, worked hard, and made sure the area was clean at the end of each day. Mike consulted me every day with progress and any items that needed to be addressed. For any problem (which there were a few), Mike always came with at least one solution, sometimes multiple, for me to choose from. I would highly recommend Mike to do any construction work. I look forward to working with him again in the future!

It was beyond excellent, BMO construction services and knowledge set such a high bar in perfection and attention to details that no other contractor can even come close. I am an engineer myself who is extremely picky and loves watching the work while it is done, not too many contractors like that and Mike passed with flying colors even with my extreme pickiness. The finish on everything he did from tile work, to flooring to painting was like a picture glued on the walls and floors, his tile work is out of this world, the grout lines are even more square than a straight edge. He is a contractor who not only pays attention to details but also loves doing the work himself including plumbing, electrical, tile, cabinetry, there is nothing he can't do or know. His subs. for hardwood flooring and painting were excellent too. Actually, his painter Yota was a magician than a painter, I called him Michael Angelo. With Mike you actually get a real licensed contractor who does the work himself and stays with you all day, he is very selective since he does one job at a time, he is not the type of a contractor like what you get in these big colorful advertisements in magazines, where they show up 7:30 AM just to drop 2 guys to do the work and you don't get to see him again until 5 PM. Mike is there with you on every big and small, not only doing it himself but advising you and warning you on what needs to be done. I must have interviewed a dozen of contractors for my project over a 12 months period before I decided to go with BMO. I waited for Mike at least 3 months because I am a construction engineer myself and have dealt with many contractors and I knew what type of contractor Mike was from the first time we met and decided that no one else would fit my picky and high finish standards. All these big colorful ads in remodeling magazines are big scams, as in most of them you really not calling the contractor himself, they are just a telephone service taking down your details just to send you a sales rep. who is trained to pursued you in signing a contract, like a used car salesman by showing you all these wonderful pictures of previous work and you think this is great this is my dream prince contractor who is going to work on my remodeling, you are very wrong, once you sign the contract and he gets his commission you will never see him again. When the construction actually starts the real contractor or a supervisor finally shows up only to drop a construction crew in the morning and they briefly get directions for that day and off he goes to another job, you don't see him back until 4:30 pm. During that time no one is actually supervising the work or all the corner cuts and the sub standard work that is being done. With Mike he is there all the time because he is doing it himself or supervising his subs. If you have a project don't hesitate a second to call mike, he is worth waiting for and deserves every single penny he asks for because he will give you your dream finish and well engineered product, he checks and double checks everything. Most importantly, he started on time and finished before the contracted time, he even came back after the contract was over and been paid in full to repeat some fishing touches that he was not happy with, they looked fine to me but he wouldn't let it go. He is even more perfectionist than me which my wife couldn't believe such person ever existed. Thanks Mike, Miguel and Yota for all the hard work and for putting up with my extreme pickiness!!

Mike of BMO Kitchen & Bathroom Renovations did a truly excellent job for us. He and his team were professional, punctual, friendly, and they worked hard. The finish on the parts of the kitchen refit that they worked on (gas, electrical, plumbing, and drywall) was all done to a very high standard and at a reasonable cost. Mike was really excellent at communicating all of the stages/steps of the process he and his crew worked on for us. Mike was able to give a detailed itemised estimate of all the parts of the job at the beginning, and when we found extra tasks that needed to be performed (you never know what surprises an old house is going to reveal!) he was very clear and detailed in explaining options for creating solutions, and was very patient as we decided which option to choose to fit our budget. Mike also took the time to explain precisely what had been involved in each step of the work undertaken, so that we understood and could see clearly both what he and his team had done and see clearly that it was done to the highest standards up to code. He also gave us advice to pass on to the other contractors who installed the cabinets, countertops, etc. which really helped us manage the workflow of the whole kitchen refit very well. We are very grateful for the excellent service and the level of finish that BMO provided. I would definitely recommend BMO, Mike and his team to anyone. Thanks guys!

We are doing a kitchen remodel right now. I had 3 different people give me and estimate. I did not choose him but he was definitely my second choice. He was very profession. he had a good price. They only reason I didn't take him was because he didn't really want to do a couple of things the other guy was willing to do like putting in a window. I don't think it was because he couldn't do it I think that just isn't how he view my kitchen at best. What he does is he give you a general estimate by email and then if you want the design and details for everything you pay $50-100 for that. If you accept him that goes towards you total. We had some confusion on the appointment but I don't really think that was his fault.

A terrific experience. We plan to use them again. There was about 3 workers. It took less than a week. Everything went just as they said and they handled everything beautifully. The area was clean and tidy and back to normal. Better than it was before.

Mike and his crew did a incredible job, both in quality, but also is solving some difficult problems that were encountered during the construction. They made sure all through the work that the property was kept clean and well organized. They were always ready to discuss the issues that came up with the way the house was built and propose alternative ways to solve them. I'm planning to use them for two more bathrooms at that property and three bathrooms at another property.

He asked me how I heard about them. A year and a half ago I was going to have a lot of work done. I looked up the most 10 highly rated providers and picked 1 company to do 1 part of the house because I thought while they do the job and I'll have this company do the kitchen afterwards. They were highly rated but I was very disappointed. I was hesitant to use Angie's List again after that experience. I decided to try Angie's List again. I started looking through the list of contractors again and this company BMO Kitchen & Bath Renovation caught my eye. I picked them because all their reviews were great. Last time all the reviews were great on the last company but one member wrote that he was so impressed with his work that he had them do his entire house after. He is so thorough, helpful and responsive. Mike gave me his number and you can call any time. He's there to help you and guide you and give advise when needed. He even filled a hole today that I wasn't even aware of. I was so impressed with the way he was able to coordinate everything and work under such tight guidelines and maintain his temperament and cool and do the work. He actually does the work. That was one of the problems I had with the other contractor was that they used sub contractors. Mike actually did the tile and counter tops himself. he just catches every tiny detail. He did a beautiful job and I'm so amazed at how it came out. He's one in a million.
