The crew sprang into action with the focus and intensity which made me think of a special forces unit. There was no chit-chat or wasted time.    Before the job, Shadow Roofing advised me that the solar panels on the (expired) roof of the house I had just bought had been wrongly installed. He coordinated with the solar company before and during the temporary removal and subsequent re-installation of the mounts and panels. Manny made sure that (this time) the panels and their mounts could not risk penetrating the roofing materials, were adequately "flashed"etc.    The other company which bid this job had not educated me regarding how re-roofing must be handled when solar panels are involved.    I would definitely recommend Shadow Roofing to anyone in the Ventura area. It's a family-owned firm with an extraordinary discipline and commitment to thorough and high-quality work.

We worked with Shadow Roofing in and before August 2013.  They did an excellent job installing a new roof for a good price.  They were responsive when we noted guys smoking on the job on the roof and the problem stopped. They were fast, thorough, and the roof looked fantastic.  We thought they were a fantastic company and the best roofers ever.  We referred them to numerous people.  Manuel and Sal were super nice and easy to work with.  They had also installed a skylight in a different place and did a great job, plus pointed out areas of concern in the new roof we had previously installed.  Thanks to them, we were able to have the roof fixed by the original installer who had not done it properly.  We were really happy as we manage a number of properties and thought we had found a great company to work with permanently.
Time passed and last year we had them repair a roof on one place, install a vent on another, and give an estimate for a third.  It took time. Weeks went by as calls went unanswered, mailboxes were full, and there was a disconnect between the office and the field.   The job that was done to patch the roof was not done well, and the experienced tenant remarked that care was not taken during the repair.  The crew that came to install the vent came without proper tools or method.  We had to supply the tools ourselves to get the job done, and we did not pay for that job.  It took more time for us to have Shadow do it than it would have been to do it ourselves. It was a small job, less than 2 hours for 2 people. We tried to talk to the owner Manuel about the situation, thinking that he would be responsive, but we found that he was not interested in our feedback.
Our review is in the middle because they did a great job, and then everything changed.  It was like working with two different companies.  We found it sad, and hope it can be turned around.   We would work with them on a new roof, but not on repairs to an existing roof unless they had installed it.   But that is unlikely to happen because they were not responsive to the concern and complaints that we had.  It took us by surprise as we had held them in high regard.

I would very much recommend them to other members. They actually completed the work the next day. I spent $1500 on that service. The work they did was very quick and efficient. I was pleased with the work. The workers were very professional, knowledgeable, and efficient. They were there to answer all my questions and were very personable. I thought the pricing was right. They were also very responsive.
