Sears - Ventura

I went in to have my tires rotated as it is a free service having purchased the tires from Sears. The employee was kind and told me that I shouldn't have to wait long because I was fortunately there in the middle of the week. I was told they would be done in an hour. I walked around and visited some local shops and returned an HOUR AND A HALF later. When I returned, my truck was parked int he same spot. Giving them the benefit of the doubt, I thought they just parked my truck back in the same spot I left it in. Nope. They never got to it. When I inquired, I was told mine could be on the lift in 10 minutes but then I'd have to wait another hour for completion.
I understand things take time but they were adequately staffed and not horribly inundated with customers. I can't say they were rude or unprofessional but I was annoyed enough to leave questioning my decision to have purchased tires from Sears.

For general oil changes, safety inspections and tire rotation, they do a good job. Only once, when they worked on the differential system, the repair was not complete, and we had to take it somewhere else to be worked on again. But for general oil changes and general maintenance, we are happy will Sears automotive. In general, the oil change and safety inspection/ tire rotation takes an hour or hour and half. It is at the Pacific View Mall, so you can go shopping while you wait. A few times, it has taken 4 hours due to special repairs, or them having to get parts they didn't have from a different sears, causing a long waitt. But we continue to use Sears for general oil changes and maintenance/inspections. For specific and specialized car repairs, see my review of Bill Clark Automotive Ventura.

Initially, they have been excellent and if I judge all the work that I have done at Sears for the last 30 or 40 years because that's where I take my car. They are consistently the best of all the places that I had been. I have taken cars to other places, but Sears has consistently the best brakes I ever had.
