July 3, 2021 Dear Dr. Brunette, Norman Tally, at 84 years of age, is so very pleased with the eye exam you performed recently. Over the years you have taken very good care of Norman. This exam was excellent—the additional correction for double vision and other corrections are working very very well.  Norman purchased his glasses for the first time at Miramar Optical. Another excellent experience. Kris S. assisted Norman with perfectly fitting glasses with frames that are the best he has had. Also she spent time with him/us in getting to know us and our needs. Norm ordered regular glasses, with the double vision correction, and computer glasses. Both types of glasses are very good. Many thanks to you, Dr. Brunette, and Kris S. in optical. We very much appreciate your kind and caring and knowledgeable assistance. Norman has been under Dr. Corwin’s care for years. I have not yet followed through with the actual physical surgery.  I went through other complications and the other people that I went to were horrible.  When I went to him, he and his staff were very comforting and patient.  When I had additional questions half an hour later, he spent some time to come into the other office and talk to me again.  He listened and was calm with me; some doctors just behave like they know what they are doing and so forth.  I will definitely go back to him.

I have been going here for over ten years.  The staff (which by the way is virtually the same people ten years later!!) never fail to ask about my family.  This visit both Dr. Corwin and his assistant Lisa were willing to accelerate my visit.  I made an unusual request and they complied without hesitation.  I am so happy with the care I received at Miramar.  Dr. Davidson saved my eyesight from inflammation that nearly took my eyesight away.  I had daily visits until it was under control, and frequent visits thereafter.  The first time I visited, Yolanda (who checks patients in) was so friendly and compassionate.  Regarding a comment from a previous reviewer "meat market" - yes, many doctors work there, but so does the staff that started with Dr. Corwin in his sole practice over 20 years ago.  It is a successful practice because it offers high quality care.  My entire family now goes there for eye checkups.

I hated the guy I saw.  First of all it feels like you are in an assembly line.  There are a number of eye doctors there so they have the staff to take you in and put the drops in your eyes and give you the tests.  They are very curt, and with no patience, no nothing.  I admit I was having a really bad day that day but I still felt like I was a piece of meat being packaged.  I had gone there with a specific issue.  So then the doctor comes in and he examines me and then blabbers off the name of something which is apparently what I have which is not critical but probably pretty common for that is the impression I get.  He rattles it off again and I agreed.  He then tells me that I can expect to get more of those.  So I asked him if it is going to appear in both my eyes to which he condescendingly replied that it would be just in the other eye.  How would I know that you are supposed to have just one in each eye or whatever this thing I have.  I did not need empathy but I didn’t need to be patronized and treated like a little kid.  I won’t say he yelled at me but it was like reprimanding me for asking a stupid question.  I am no way going back there.  The only treatment that I received there was telling me what I have and kind of telling me to get over it.  There was no solution.  The exam does not seem like treatment to me.  At one point he had written down what I have, on the bill or on the piece of paper so when I came to the front I requested  if I could have a copy of that paper and the lady very curtly denied it to me even though it was my file.  So I asked if I could write down what his diagnosis is.  The problem is, that is only place which my insurance refers to.  So one of these days I am going to complain to them.  I think that the guy is just a jerk.  It is not only him.  There are multiple doctors and a couple of years ago when I had a different situation and I went and saw a different doctor there and my experience was not as bad but it was still the same meat market kind of an assembly line approach.  When I would ask questions I would not get answers.  I think it is the nature of that group.  May be it is the way they run their business.  I don’t know how to tell doctors that they suck except by not going back.

My experience with him has been good. He is very thorough and friendly. He takes time and explains everything to you and has a good chair side manner. His office environment and staff are good.

He is a good doctor and he really knows his job. He did one eye in January and the other in February and there was no pain involved and I was out in 15 minutes. He is easy to get an appointment with and is punctual. His office environment and staff are good.

He did a very good job with a torn retina I had and he did a very good job. He is handsome, young and he is excellent. He is professional, thorough and has a good chair side manner.

As a result of the infection the retina became detached and my wife lost vision in that eye. We went back four times to try to correct the problem, but this ultimately was a complete a failure. Our expereince was not the norm, and I would like to think that Dr. Corwin is on average better than he was for us.
