Andy was very responsive to our needs and got the job done on schedule. Andy and workers were very respectful of our property and their communication was great. They left the place clean and the wall is excellent

I am a craftsman and a perfectionist. Whether it's one of my hobbies or a computer program I write for work, "good enough" is never good enough for me. And when I hire a professional to do what I don't have the strength or skill to do myself, I look for someone with the same high standards as myself. So, when I finally managed to save enough money to get rid of my disintegrating asphalt driveway, I found just such a craftsman in Andy Castanada and 805 Concrete Worx. Andy listened to all my concerns (particularly that the planters I had painstakingly built myself be undamaged) and all my hopes for what would be (after my house and my car) the most expensive thing I've ever bought. Because "me no speakee concrete", Andy took the time to explain exactly what he was going to do and why, and helped me design the look and select the colors. He shared my desire for a driveway that would be as beautiful as it was functional. I took the week off just so I could watch the process ("This Old House" in my own front yard!) In just one day Andy and his helper, Javier, had ripped out that eyesore of an asphalt driveway and by the next had prepped it for concrete: smoothing it with his tractor, compacting it with a one-ton roller and plate compactor, putting up forms, and tying down rebar.
Andy insists on getting the first batch of the day from his concrete supplier because that gives him the most time to work when the cool early morning conditions are optimal, so he and his subcontractor crew were there bright and early for the pour. It was a wonder and a revelation to watch his crew at work--they are just as much perfectionists as Andy and myself! They were fast and efficient with a keen eye to detail. "Good enough" was where they began their work; they finished at a level I can only describe as artistry! What really impressed me was the teamwork and enthusiasm they demonstrated. Pouring and finishing concrete is hard, heavy work, but Andy's crew attacked it untiringly and with pride. They were highly skilled and committed to creating a thing of beauty, and took joy in that creation--it was evident in the happy camaraderie between them and way they communicated with each other. Andy did the stamping and coloring himself, taking great pains to replicate the color scheme of my planters.
I've hired Andy to come back to pressure-wash and seal it, and to resurface my front stoop (which looks downright shabby next to that beautiful driveway). I only wish I had more for him to do, for he is a joy to work with. I recommend him unreservedly to anyone who wants any concrete work done.
Some contractors may have seen this as just another little suburban driveway, unworthy of any extra effort, but not Andy--he puts all his skill (plus that of the two generations of concrete men behind him) into it, and he works with subcontractors who share his drive for perfection. I am thrilled and overjoyed with my driveway: its artistry and beauty will enhance the "curb appeal" and value of my home for decades to come, but nothing can equal the soul-deep pleasure I get every time I walk across it and see the artistry that went into its creation.

They were very clean and didn't leave a mess which I really appreciated. The resloapoing of the sidewalk not only turned out well, but also made a huge difference the next time it rained. The quality of work was very good and the stamped concrete is very appealing to the eye and definitely added value to my home.
