That's not to say that all of the work that we've had done there is free or cheap. We have two cars (Toyota Camry and Honda CRV) and have had a couple of big issues; however, they've always thoroughly explained the problems (e.g. physically showing us the defects). Even though we've gotten a couple of big bills, we've always felt that they were fair for the work being done. I should also mention that they offer a 10% AAA discount on labor too.
They'll plug leaks in your tire for free; unless, of course, you have a nail on the side of your tire (like we had happen today). Fear not, though, they are always able to refer you to local businesses that they work with regularly.
Being female, I did a lot of research on "lady friendly" mechanics and even tried out a few. I absolutely recommend West Automotive Center if you're female and are shopping for a new mechanic (h***, even if you're male, go with these guys). They're awesome.
