Company was supposed to include "designer" component but a) didn't really make any design suggestions, although did go with me to the tile store and help me select tile b) options were extremely limited: i only had ONE choice of cabinet style and 2 choices of wood type for cabinet. Apparently this is because they purchased their cabinets from a particular cabinet maker, which on my own, I figured out where the cabinet store was and drove there to discuss the options directly with the cabinet maker. On-site manager was frequently late - sometimes by several hours. Seemed to be using sub-contractors, which varied in quality. Tile guy was good and re-did some tiles that were loose after initial install. counter top was installed incorrectly - with an additional piece of backsplash that didn't belong - and I had to pull it off myself. Because sub-flooring had to be added, per my condo a**'n, the tile was too high for the door to shut - so they cut my door (from the bottom). but that left a large gap beneath my front door, which they didn't seem perturbed about until I complained and they bought something to cover it up. Contractor seemed to have a lot of trouble with my plumbing. My condo's maintenance guy came by and had to offer advice to my contractor on how to fix the plumbing. 6 mths later when I went to sell the property, the tub no longer had any hot water and I had to find a new plumber to fix it. Best part was when contractors drank the beer that was in my fridge and then left the empty bottles inside one of the cabinets (!!!!) I was livid; company apologized and replaced my beer. (but that was NOT the point .... a) they stole my beer b) they were drinking it while using power tools c) they were supposed to be working! and d) they left the trash as evidence?!)
