Very professional and responsive. Other duct installers refused to perform the service during summer months but JMS gave us a reasonable quote and start date. Ultimately, the date was postponed for one day by JMS, but this didn't cause us any inconvenience. The work was done quickly and quietly, improving the air flow throughout the house and increasing the efficiency of our AC system, resulting in a small decrease in energy costs.

My experience with JMS Air and Heating Repair has been a very positive one. I have had service technicians from this company come out to service two properties in recent months. Once was last minute during the height of a heat wave. the techs arrived when they were supposed to, did a thorough analysis of the equipment, gave an explanation that was understandable to a layman, and completed the work for a reasonable price. I would recommend this company, owned by Yossi Mesica, to my family and friends, and now to you too! Telephone: 818-501-6750 Located in Van Nuys, CA

JMS seems to be a poorly managed and disorganized company. They provided us with poor customer service and exhibited questionable business ethics. I contact JMS to take advantage of the free AC optimization program provided by LADWP. What should have been a quick and easy 1 time service visit turned into 3 month multiple appointments saga. In summary, they cancel appointments last minute, show up late, don’t complete the work, upsell you into un-necessary repairs / replacements, and are unresponsive when trying to reach them for resolution. Here is the rundown of my experience: I scheduled an appointment in mid-February only to have them call me a few days before informing me that they ran out of necessary equipment and thus requested to move the appointment nearly a month later to March 13th. The March 13th appointment actually went fairly well, the guys seemed nice, it took a few hours, except that they couldn’t actually test my AC system due to rain. A second appointment was scheduled for Friday 03/30 to complete the work. Thursday afternoon, the day before this appointment, I got a call from JMS informing me that they need to reschedule. I informed them that I’ve already requested a day off from work and will thus burn a vacation day for no reason. The scheduler didn’t seem to care much for this inconvenience but did offer to make us the first appointment of the day (8-9 am timeslot) in order to minimize the time I have to take off from for this 3rd time. When the 3rd appointment day arrived (April 5th), while waiting for the technician to arrive I took out the trash and noticed a JMS van parked a few houses down from mine around 8:15 am. By 8:45 am he still was sitting in his truck, I couldn’t wait any longer and decided to leave for work, allowing my wife to meet him when he was ready. Julian finally came to our front door around 9:00 am and began to perform the final AC system tests. My wife informed him that she has to be out the door by 10:00 am thus asking him to perform the required inside test while she was there. He finished around 10:15 am and they both left the house. At this point we were under the impression we were done. A few weeks later, I received some sort of certificate from a third party notifying me that my system is inefficient and that I qualify for a $1,200 early AC replacement rebate. There were no details as to what the testing results where or how inefficient my system was. JMS then contacted me to schedule another appointment to discuss my options. I requested results of the system tests from the scheduler to which she said I have to speak to Julian as she does not have them. Once again, I explained to her that I have to repeatedly take time off from work in order to accommodate these repeated appointments and she told me that the technician will be at me house at 8:00 am. On April 19th we had our 3rd appointment with JMS, where a different person came to sell us on a new AC unit. Once again, I noted the JMS van parked up the street from me around 8:00 am and the technician actually arrived at 8:45 am. I have no clue why they do this but my suspicion is they are either billing LADWP on an hourly basis or are paid by JMS on an hourly basis thus putting extra $ in their pockets. First sign of being unethical. He climbed up on the roof for 5 minutes, asked me to turn on the AC, and then climbed down explaining that my system is inefficient and showed me a pricing list ranging from $10,265 - $16,370! Mind you, my AC and heater work perfectly well so they were trying to have me replace something that wasn’t broken. I once again asked to see some sort of results on what the testing showed but he didn’t have anything to show me. I informed him that I would like to get a second opinion to which he informed me that there is a limited time for me to take advantage of the rebate and that the rebate can only be given if I use JMS and no other vendor. Later that day, I get a call from Julian who then explains to me that he did not have time to complete the AC optimization test during the previous appointment (April 5th) and that he needs to return to complete it. So they sent out a sales person to upsell me into a new unit without even knowing if the current machine is fully efficient or not. Second sign of being unethical. At this point I requested to speak to a manager and was informed that they didn’t have one. The call center person said she will pass along my request to Yosi the owner and that he will reach out to me. The next day I received a call from Nachiely Bravo, claiming to be the project manager, apologizing for the miscommunication, explaining that JMS values exceptional service, and asking if I wouldn’t mind re-scheduling for them to come complete the testing. She also said they will adjust the refrigerant levels and as a token of their appreciation they will do a complementary tune-up service. I once again requested to see some sort of results of their findings to which she assured me I would receive it via e-mail. I didn’t receive results but received a proposal of work instead. Both e-mail and proposal are attached below. My wife and I were completely over it at this point but I decided to give them one last try and be done with it. I informed Nachiely of this “park for an hour down the street” practice and she assured me they will be there right at 8:00 am and that I won’t be missing any time from work. I specifically told her that I will only do this if the very first guys (from March 13th) appointment came and she assured me that I will only deal with them. So yesterday (April 26th) Julian shows up at my house… He informs me that he needs to complete the test and it will take an hour and a half. He doesn’t know anything about the complementary tune-up and he blames my wife for not being able to finish it the first time, telling me that “he told the woman that he wasn’t done”. Third sign of being unethical. I once again explained to him that I can’t wait another hour and a half and take more time off from work to deal with this to which he said “well you should have scheduled an appointment for 7:00 am”… I responded that 8:00 am is the first appointment slot offered and he then rudely responded that I am wrong and next time should “maybe ask”. I told him to get his stuff and leave. Since then, I tried reaching out to Nachiely, the project manager, twice with no response. On the second call her mailbox was full and I couldn’t even leave a message. I called the JMS direct line twice and haven’t been able to get anyone on the phone, just an endless loop of the recorded message. For your own sanity please go somewhere else to get any work done. There are plenty of reputable companies out there where managements actually cares and employees take pride in their work. Good luck!

Their price for this was fair and the guy doing the work was professional and friendly. However, it took me several attempts to get these guys to come out here. There were at least two appointments that they completely ignored or missed and these are days I took time off work to come home early. They didn't give me any reasonable explanation. The guy who gave me a fairly high quote on an entire system install using a mediocre brand and its the only brand they sold. I eventually went with another company and got a much better price on a more comprehensive, higher quality system. I would say shop around before using JMS.

JMS team arrived right at the agreed upon time to replace the faulty coil. They used tarps to protect my wood floor and also wore "booties" when in the house. Menooa and Victor were very neat. Menooa kept me informed as the work progressed. Ohad, the project manager called the day before the work began to ask if I had any questions and also followed up with me after the work was done. JMS mailed me the warranty on the parts and labor so I would have for my records. I will use them again in the future.

I am the property manager of an older Spanish-style duplex in the Miracle Mile, and one of the EXTREMELY old furnaces needed to be replaced, so the owner decided to replace both of them with modern forced-air units, which also required bringing the heating systems up to code. This required some serious new duct work between the basement and two units, which was tricky as each unit occupies a separate story.
I got two companies to come out and give me an estimate. The first company (from Angie's List) would not even touch this job; the basement was too small and tight, and the difficulty of installing two units in the tight space as well as installing the new duct work was just too much, so he turned down the job flat.
However, when JMS came out, the estimator Tony acknowledged that it would be difficult, but it was doable. He submitted his estimate promptly the next day (mid-November). The owner and I decided on a start date the following month (Mid-December), when one of the units was unoccupied and JMS was available for the estimated three days installation time. Ohad, the project supervisor, came to the duplex to take measurements, and the installation began the following week. Communication was clear, schedules were made, and they stuck to them.
The installation team, Manooa and Victor, arrived on time and started doing their thing ? they were very courteous, professional, AND CLEAN! Aside from some unavoidable fine dust that needed to be wiped down or vacuumed, at the end of each day they truly left no trace, and put moved items back in their spots. The tenants were very appreciative. Manooa let me know what was going on, if there were any problems, and how they were doing time-wise. When it turned out that the installation needed an extra fourth day to finish, I knew midway through the third day and could reschedule things accordingly.
After the fourth day each unit had a great new heating system (JUST in the nick of time, as it got really cold over the holidays). However, on New Year's Eve, the upstairs heater ? only two weeks old ? did not work! We called JMS to see if they could come out (on an almost-holiday), and Ohad did! It turns out our old wiring had blown a fuse INSIDE the furnace, so Ohad replaced the fuse and rewired a few things. It is still going strong!
From start to finish, this company was clear, professional, communicative, and responsive. This was a big project with a big cost outlay and the owner had put it off because it was such a pain. However, the entire experience ? which really could have been a big, inconvenient headache for everybody ? went really smoothly. Two big thumbs up!

I contacted JMS for a second opinion after a technician from another local AC company, told me that my problem would require a new electronic board and new motors. I was told that the board and motors were dysfunctional and the entire board and motors needed replacing.  After a $5,000 repair quote, I contacted JMS for a second opinion.
Eduardo R., the service technician, was a godsend! He was honest, efficient, and professional, and had my system operational in less than an hour. A freon depletion was addressed and my total bill was about $500. Eduardo told me that my electronic board and motors were in perfect condition and were not in need of replacement! What a relief!
There are honest businesses out there, and this is definitely one of them! Thank you to Eduardo and to the entire team at JMS!

Well, after my initial call on Friday evening, I was feeling very hopeful that someone would return my call to schedule an appointment to come out on Saturday to fix my air conditioning unit.
When no one called me back by 10:30 am on Saturday, and I called again, I was told that I needed to specifically say, "I need emergency service" since the company is closed on Saturday.  I told the representative, "When I called in last night, after hours, I told the woman who answered the phone that it was very important I get someone out to fix my broken air conditioning unit, tomorrow, because it's very hot and I don't want to go the weekend with out it.  I will make sure I am home to meet the repair man at whatever time he can make the service call."  The rep told me that she would "put that in my notes."  and that "someone will call you about this."  However, no one ever called.
Now, I called in a second time, I was told again that someone would call me, and that this would be considered an emergency service.  And still, no one has called me.
I will not be using this company again.  Had they just told me from the beginning that they couldn't accommodate me, I could have found plenty of other companies to help me.  Now, the day is almost over, and I am back to square one.

Ask for Jeff Berg!! He is one of the best, if not the best technician I have worked with at JMS or anywhere else.  Not only is he extremely knowledgeable about the system, but he is extremely clear and articulate  about the repairs, very calmly discussing what needs to be done and why.  He is also a great salesman for the company --he explained very clearly the cost benefit of becoming a preferred customer (preferred service priority along with other discounts) vs. calling for service on an incident by incident basis.
We have been customers of JMS over the last 18 years --their prices are on the high side.  The work Jeff did on this job was for a rental property for which I didn't want to spend the for premium preferred service.  It didn't matter, however, because Jeff provided A level service --figured out electrical issues, brought the maintenance up to speed and got the whole system working perfectly again.
I will continue to work with JMS in the future.  Jeff did a great job!

Marco B, the service man, arrived early.  He was very friendly and got right to work, offering to help me clear an area that he needed access to.  I retained their services after receiving a call offering a $49 rate per ac unit.  He was here for a long time.  When it was done, he showed me a photo of mold that had accumulated on one of my machines.  He recommended that I install an Air Scrubber system into my AC unit to keep the air clear that runs through that unit.  The machine was very expensive ($1275), but he said he uses one himself because he has bad allergies.  My daughter has bad allergies and asthma also, so I thought it was worth it.  I was also impressed with Marco because he spoke very intelligently about my entire system and even drew me diagrams to make it easier to understand.  He included the cleaning of the mold for free, saving me a couple hundred dollars.  We also discussed the ages of each of my systems and he knew immediately, having taken photos of all dates.  So, even though I spent a lot more than I anticipated, I thought JMS's services was very good and would highly recommend them.
