They were excellent and were able to install the heating unit without having to rip out any of my walls. They even used a crane to get the unit installed outside the back of my home. I would highly recommend them and I would definitely hire them again.

Excellent!- They were referred by our neighbors. They came Friday and fix our HVAC on Monday. Their men are very polite, courteous and respectful. Everything is clean when they left.

Less than a month later, water was dripping down from my overhead fan in my living room. The condensate line from my A/C unit had plugged with rust, was leaking onto the roof, which then leaked through the roof, saturated my ceiling, and was leaking through my ceiling fan into my living room. My ceiling had to be torn out, a 3-day drying process ensued, and the ceiling restored, costing thousands. Lousy service. And now my home insurance is going up due to my insurance claim.

They were the first one to give attention to the crack in the material of binding my rooftop air conditioning unit to the roof and it was allowing the leaks of water. They were the first one to give attention to the fact that it was there so I hired them to clean out and see it. I would use this provider again in the future.

He told me my coil was fine and recommended that the area around my unit be resealed because there were cracks. This was the first company who told me about the problem, which I greatly appreciated. They are satisfactory to this point. I've had them out a few times. When I first used them a couple of years ago, they came out a week after another company told me my unit was rusted out, my compressor wasn't working and that I needed four pounds of freon. First Choice told me that no additional freon was needed, the coil was a little rusted but normal and my compressor was fine. The price was a little high, but they did a good job.

The boss, Michael, was not pleasant. The unit works fine. We did not like the guy at all.

In June 2008 my husband and I had 3 quotes from 3 different heating and air conditioning companies. First Choice being one of them. We own a house that was built in 1923 and had some heating ducts and a furnace but no air conditioning unit. First Choice submitted the most reasonable quote and Leo the contractor who came to the house to make write up the proposal assured us verbally that the quote included everything new...Everything, all grills, duct work, insulation, furnace and air conditioning unit. As we are not A/C or heating experts we looked at the quote and took him at his word as it appeared thorough. The day came to install everything, Leo arrived with about 5 laborer and one electrician and left about 30 mins after. The men worked all day and into the evening, complaining and swearing in various languages. They did not clean up after themselves nor did they communicate with us at all. The opening to the attic was the wrong size for the furnace and it took them longer to install it, and cracked the door and the frame to get it in. When it came to complete the day, we noticed that the intake grill had not been replaced. We asked the man who was asking us to sign and he said it was not part of the quote, but he had not authority to speak on it. We left it and called the next day. We spoke to the contractor, Leo who said the same thing, it was not on the quote and they were not responsible. We decided it was not worth the fight, it was just a grill. We took the old grill off and then it was revealed the plenum and the elbow connecting this to the ducts was also not replaced. We checked the quote and this was part of it. We called 3 times and asked to speak to the manager and go no response. I then wrote a letter and then received a call from Leo. Who stated, and I quote, "Why are you hanging me out to dry? You have a lovely new air conditioning unit, it's nice..no? Why are you not happy? Why you complaining? Be happy!" Leo came out and had a look. He said, quote again, "look, just paint the grill and be happy. I've done what I am obligated to do." The next day we called Mike Gurts who is the manager. He called me back. He argued with me on the work and the quote. When he finally understood and heard the plenum and the elbow were not replaced he softened and said..."oh, those should have been replaced. When can we do this work for you?" He added that he would not replace the intake grill as it was not in the quote. I decided to accept this, even though I was verbally assured it would be replaced and could not have been expected to know any of these terms at the time, it just didn't seem worth the trouble. We set up an appointment and they didn't show up at the time allocated and they didn't call. After one letter, at least 15 - 20 phone calls, (note-even after all this activity the receptionist still didn't know my name or remember anything about this issue), and now over one year of dealing with this we decided to dispute the final charge from the finance company. As soon as the final charge went into dispute, we received a call from Mike Gurts' secretary asking if they could come out on Monday. I said that I would need to check with my husband because I would be out of town. They kept calling, Sat, Sunday and Monday, on my cell phone and greatly added to my long distance bill. They did not call any other numbers. I finally called them on Tuesday and Mike snidely stated that he wanted to be there yesterday (Monday) to complete the job. I replied that I wanted the job complete June 2008. He went silent and said, "You're right. When can we finish this." We set up the appointment last week, mid September (now 13 months from the original install) and they came and replaced the elbow and the plenum without charge. As agreed. We just today received a review from the financing company stating that the dispute has been resolved in the merchants favor and to read the attached letter from First Choice. There was a letter from Mike Gurts himself negating everything we had discussed. He does not mention that the plenum was not replaced or the elbow was not replaced and that they have completed this at no charge to us. He does not state that they didn't show up for the first re-appointment before the charge dispute and did not call, he just states that we were not home. An utter lie. He states that we called and asked them to hold off because we did not want to repair drywall - another lie. Either way...Let it be a lesson. When a service man comes to your house quoting you for something that you know nothing about and they say repeatedly, "don't worry, everything new, everything new", it is not their job to be honest, it is your job to do your home work. I have learned this lesson. Now it has not only cost me $10,000,but an additional $1800 in finance charges. Run the other way from this company!

We were attracted to First Choice because of its financing options for addressing our 20 year old and inadequate a/c unit and furnace. They were prompt in giving an estimate for the new unit, giving a variety of suggestions to address our needs and helping us select the right choice. The installation was timely, the workers were competent and efficient. There were some delays in the follow-up that required me to make additional phone calls to ensure that we had complied with proper city permit procedures, but that was a minor nuisance compared to the overall quality of the job. Before we got to First Choice, we had received estimates from 4 other companies on Angies List to address our needs...all of whom indicated that we would need to spend twice as much than what we spent with First Choice. Ultimately, they were a quality vendor who was willing to work with our budget, and we appreciated that.

The installation itself went fine. The fans worked for about a year. We had the fans installed in the middle of July. By the next August both fans broke for no reason at all. This was about three weeks after the one year warranty expired. The fans didn't actually make it through an entire summer. The company agreed to replace the fans, but we still had to pay another 300 dollars for the installation. This completely cancels out the whole reason for having the fans, which is to save on our air conditioning bill. I was able to negotiate a two year warranty on these new fans this time around. So the company gave us something. But for $940 I would expect two attic fans to work for more than one year and three weeks.

I loved their service and they would be the choice for me if I had to call them again. They will come out on a weekend that is if you cannot make a weekday appointment and the even picked up the lumber for the platform work. They were very accommodating and saved me a lot of time.

I have not yet had to call this company back or the air conditioning company. This job went rather smoothly and I am very impressed. This was all covered thought the initial installation of the unit so I am not sure what the exact charge is. I paid about $2700 for everything. That also includes my yearly maintenance checks on the system. That also has been going well. Everything seems to be doing really good and I have no complaints at this time.

I only had one little tiny problem with the unit, something was making a noise inside of it. I called them to come and fix it and they came out that very same day. I am kind of pleased with the services that I received from them. I feel they could have done a little better, but, I am not complaining. The job was fair, but, I probably would not hire them again just because I wouldn't.

We did do a little shopping around. We ended up going with a reliable company that we had used a couple of times in the past. Everyone is always very friendly. The guys who did the work really knew exactly what they were doing. We just basically called them up, set up the appointment, and they came right out on time and got right to work. They are always very fast. We have had no problems with any of their work they have done.

Extremely dissatisfied with level of customer service by this company. I contacted them because they where a Rheem Certified and recommended dealer. I would not recommend this company to anyone based on my experience. In fact, I have filed complaints with the BBB and with Rheem about my experience with this company.
