Purchased a tile roof tune-up deal here on Angie's List, needing to get some things addressed that the home inspector identified when we were buying the place in the Fall, and the tune-up seemed like a good way to kick that off. Tony, the owner of Great Western, came out to do the tune-up; his initial inspection confirmed what the home inspector's report had eluded to (home inspectors, generally, don't walk the roof as part of their inspection), as well as a few other things that needed attention, some more critical than others. He gave me an estimate for the things requiring the most immediate attention, along with an estimate for work that would get us that he was confident would deliver another 30+ years out of the already 30+ year-old cement tile roof (and it doesn't involve a new roof!) We scheduled the immediate repair work; he and his team arrived on the appointed day, and did an amazing job of installing metal flashing in place of the cracked mortar seals around the roof vents with metal flashings, replacing broken tiles, and fixing short-cuts taken by the original tract builder, etc. We'll definitely be using them to do the long-term roof rehab when Spring rolls around! TL;DR version - Tony and his staff are exactly what you want in any trade - consummate professionals who delivered high-quality work at a fair price.

Very well, from estimate process through actual work. Estimate was based on actual inspection of roof (not aerial imagery). Very efficient crew. Price included a seniors discount. Tony Walker provided a clear and honest assessment of what needed to be done, how much it would cost, and when he could do the work. He then delivered big time!

Very nice, polite and efficient. After inspecting the roof and chimney flashing Tony told me my roof was actually very well done and in good shape, and that in his opinion the source for water leaking into my home was due to a rusted out chimney case cover and termination cap (I got those items replaced as suggested and my problem was solved). I had actually called two companies to get an analysis and quotes to fix the problem. The other company told that my relatively new roof should be ripped up and replaced in that area of the roof. I appreciate the professional and honest approach of Great Western and they will be who I will use in the future when it does come time to replace or repair my roof.

I called Great Western during their busiest time of the year and they managed to get me in and taken care of quickly. The service was great and the did a great job cleaning up and leaving the place looking like they had never been there.

This had to be one of the most pleasant experiences in home repairs I've ever had. Tony was terrific to work with, the workers were punctual and pleasant, everything was neat as a pin when they left each day and I have a beautiful and solid new roof. I highly recommend this company!

Tony and crew came on time and worked until the job was done the following day. They were very easy to work with and very professional. Demolition was required and they were very neat and did an excellent job including cleanup. I highly recommend Great Western Roofing.

I will absolutely use Great Western for any roofing needs I may have in the future.  I had just purchased a home in Oceanside where termite tenting was done, and was worried they may have damaged the tile roof.  I hired Great Western to come out and inspect the roof to ensure there was no damage before I closed on the house.  Tony came out and told me my roof was in great shape, and absolutely floored me when he told me there would be no charge.  Someone with that kind of integrity is hard to find, so needless to say his number is now in my contacts so I know who to call if I ever have problems with my roof.  Thanks Tony!
