Installer employee of Advanced Window (AW) did not follow installation instructions from manufacturer of tub enclosure for curved tub sides. Bottom track nicked on brand new materials. AW installer attempted to touch up with spray paint. Saw cuts jagged and not smooth filed. Caulking issues. Several scheduling mix-ups on the part of company employees and owner. We are trying to rectify the installation concerns, and are contacting others (one referred by manufacturer) to get estimates for fixing the issues as owner of company (AW) disagrees. Owner has made calls threatening to put lien on our property. We have already paid ($348.) more than the required deposit  (California contracts), and consider work incomplete and faulty so are withholding final payment until issues are resolved. Cannot complete bathroom renovation until tub enclosure is fixed so this delay is a big inconvenience given our own work and community service schedules at this time of the year. We had planned on this being finished before the start of the new school year! Very disappointed in this situation, as other work the company (AW) did several years ago was very good. Was counting on the same level of quality and courtesy. Have lost confidence in the integrity of the company and that's why we are looking elsewhere for help in rectifying this situation. Have scheduled two other installation companies to provide estimates for work required to install the tub enclosure per manufacturers instructions.

The installers were sloppy and smelled horribly of cigarette smoke. They smoked on my front porch even though I asked them not to. We had a problem with one of the windows and never heard from them about it - they had terrible follow up.
Response from Advanced Window
"We were very disappointed to hear of the members experience with the installation, as we rarely hear such feedback. We did investigate and discovered that his job had been installed at a time when we were working with a sub-contracting company for some of our installations to help handle our work load. We only briefly used that company for installations due to some similar issues. We have no record in his file of any problems with a window or any service requests, so we can only assume that the installation company did not report it to us and never followed up themselves. We value our reputation in this industry and it affects us personally when we hear that one of our customers was let down in some way. We have learned a valuable lesson in outsourcing some of our installations. We currently only use in-house installers who have been with us for many years and we receive high praise from customers whom they have done installations for. We can only apologize to him for his experience and hope he knows that we have taken the necessary steps to insure that never happens again. We would also like to let the member know that if he does have any future warranty issues or problems that he can contact us, as we are very focused on our customer service and following up on all warranty and other issues."

I have no complaints with the work they did. The windows have held up nicely since they did the installation. If needed, we would hire them again.

Price was my lowest bidder for same Milguard Fiberglass Windows as others had bid. Prompt. Stucco patching done. Windows were installed 4 months ago and no leaks or problems experienced. The windows had to be ordered and were delivered and installed in the approx time estimated. We did have to ask the installers to redo the stucco patch because he did not jag the edges and cracking was going to occur. We also had to paint the stucco because the final patch did not match. Also, the window ledging on the interior needs some additional wood added that was missed. We have not notified the company of this problem so we can not comment on response.

Everything went very smoothly from the visit from Dana, the estimator through installation. Steve, the installer is meticulous and does a beautiful job (he did the whole job by himself!). We found the company through a local home show, looked them up on Angie's list for confirmation and were happy that the reviews were right on. We researched and had quotes from three window companies before making a decision. The prices were competitive and they're very easy to work with. In fact, when we needed the new construction windows asap due to stucco scheduling, Alicia got them for us in less than a week, even though they weren't standard sizes.

Very happy. Work was done 9/05-10/05. Sorry I am late with this. Sales were not pushy, smaller deposit required, cheaper than some companies by far. I felt confident in their personnel. Did not call before coming on day special order window was installed.
