The Fireplace Guy

I found Greg Gomez, the Fireplace guy, on Yelp with excellent reviews there. I called him up and reach him right away on his cellphone. He said he could do a fireplace inspection that evening, that he was out and about right then. It was all a little loose, which made me uncomfortable. Even more so, because it was already dark. But he said he had good lighting and wouldn't have any problems. He came over a few hours later with an assistant. They went right to work checking out everything inside and out with me in tow. He explained what the various cracks we saw indicated. But he saw absolutely no problems with our fireplace. He made a recommendation on where we should place anything we would burn and said that we needed a chimney cap - gave me the size and told me where to find it. We'll most likely hire him to install it. The process was fairly quick, but appeared to be thorough and knowledgable. His specialty is work on gas fireplaces. But this seemed like a piece of cake for him. And as payment he just asked for some gas money for his car - I gave him $20 which seemed a great deal for me and he was happy with it.
