I went to the office located on Travis AFB. For some reason this service tech HAS NO KNOWLEDGE OF WHAT HE IS DOING. I brought my laptop to him because it would not turn on at all. I had already advised him that the Geek Squad at Best buy said that the computer's hard drive had failed. I guess he went with that because he told me ( after having my computer for a couple of days) that the hard drive was completely gone and for another 80.00 he would install another used one. OMG are you kidding me? I guess I paid for a diagnosis that was either false or this guy needs to get out of the computer service business. A friend referred me to another company and guess what? I was given a FREE DIAGNOSIS. Come to find out my operating system had failed. So I paid the new company 180.00 to fix it and system recovery. Totally worth it!
Response from The Solano Computer Guy Inc
"In response to your review: We take customer concerns very seriously. We reviewed your work order and discussed in detail with the onsite technician and we believe that at the time a valid diagnosis was made. During the troubleshooting process all attempts were made to access your system without success. We removed the hard drive and attempted access using various diagnostic tools and recovery systems. All tests indicated a failed drive. We could not install an operating system at that time because the drive must be accessible in order to load the operating system. The technician made contact with the findings, along with a quote to install a new replacement drive (not a used drive. It is not our policy to sell used parts unless a customer requests a used part – and even then it’s rare). Per your request no further troubleshooting or repairs were taken. We are sorry you were not happy with your experience. Great customer service is always our goal. We respect your request to not be contacted but we would be happy to discuss this with you personally if you wish to contact us. All our technicians are very knowledgeable and we have been serving the community for over 15 years. We truly hope the best for you. Warm regards Owners and staff at the Solano Computer Guy Team"

It was not cheap. They have two or three locations. They have all these mechanical guys and they took care of my problem. They were professional and helpful. I had to take my computer back once and they fixed it. They were able to explain to me and they answered all the questions that I asked. They were honest and factual with the feedback that they were giving to me. They were very polite and professional.

I HAVE USED THIS COMPANY TWO TIMES. I LIKE THE CONVENIENCE OF USING A LOCAL COMPANY. THEY DID KEEP MY COMPUTER FOR TWO WEEKS, BUT THEY WERE SUCCESSFUL IN THE REPAIR. I FEEL THAT THE COST WAS HIGH, BUT AVERAGE FOR THE INDUSTRY.
