+ -1 more--They were unfailingly polite and pleasant (left a great impression on my folks) -- Cleaned up every day (for example, taking up floor protectors each day so that my folks felt like they were still living in their home and not a construction zone) --Were not only on time every morning, but also gave us a schedule for the whole week in advance --Each phase of work was inspected every day, and any minor schedule changes were reported immediately (everything went so well that they were able to finish a day ahead of schedule!) Moved existing furniture out to garage, and took down the drapes Installed new drywall in the damaged area (involved a cathedral ceiling) Cleaned walls and prepared for painting Repainted master bedroom (primer and 2 coats, eggshell) Replaced carpet and padding Repaired baseboards in the master bedroom Replaced damaged baseboard in adjoining family room Repainted wall in family room Reinstalled drapes and furniture Installed smoke and CO2 detectors in all three bedrooms
Description of Work: Just before Thanksgiving, a roof leak in my parents home caused serious damage to their master bedroom, so bad that they had to move out of that part of the house. They live in Fairfield (are in their 90's) and I live on the East Coast - so it was up to me to find a reputable contractor to put things right. Holzapple Construction could not have been easier to work with - all our discussions and conversations with Gerry Jr. and Susie were long distance - phone and emails - and they were so understanding and caring about doing things right. I found their prices to be quite fair, even though they themselves will admit upfront that they are "high end" ... they are only "high-end" in their service and quality! All the needed work was scheduled after the Christmas/New Year's break, so I was able to come out and do some handholding for my folks; what I witnessed was some truly professional folks who take great pride in their work ... and they even finished a day early!! I WILL be using them again for other maintenance work - it is such a pleasure to work with a conscientious family business!
