We looked at three Bay Area solar companies and selected Ambrose Solar, the leading Bay Area source and certified “Master” for delivering SunPower residential solar systems. SunPower’s panels, technology and industry practices are the highest caliber in the industry. Our Ambrose salesperson oversaw our purchase, design and installation of our 25 panel rooftop solar system and a PG&E main service panel upgrade. He has stuck with us from first contact to our close out meeting and is there for us ongoing with any question we have about the technology, PG&E, NEMs, using and understanding all the data on our app and suggestions on how to get the most value from our system. We couldn’t be happier with their professionalism, industry knowledge, responsiveness and super support. Every member of each team that came to our home was courteous, professional and helpful. Our exterior electrical fuse box broke from old age. PG&E came out that night but didn't fix it, just made sure there was nothing worse that could happen. Ambrose Solar came out the next day, made it so we at least had some electricity and then hooked us up with a new electrical fuse box and solar paneling the very next week. They're very informative, extremely fast and did a great job. They made it all very easy, we were very lucky to have them on our side.

We had been interested in Solar for many years. It wasn't until we met with Kody Keroher did we decide to install a system. His detailed presentation and follow through was stellar. We also appreciated how smooth the operation was throughout the entire process. Ambrose Solar represents the kind of quality product and customer service all companies should aspire to be. Most of all, I really enjoy looking at the APP, which shows the graph of produced vs. used as well as the financial and more importantly the environmental savings.

If you are thinking of solar this is definitely the company to trust when making the leap. Ian Finger came out to our house when it aligned with our schedule and answered every question we had. We had a few other companies come out to talk with us about solar and never felt confident with moving forward until meeting with Ian. The process was quick and fairly easy on our end. Ambrose recently put solar on my house and they are amazing!! Every time we called for anything they were polite and had all the answers. They were able to squeeze our install in a little earlier, and they showed up with a whole team of people to get it all installed in one day!! Ian was very helpful with helping us decide what we needed and accommodating our questions and concerns. They even gave us a tracking system so we can track our usage and production in real time from our phones!! All in all wonderful, couldn’t have asked for more! Thank you!! Also the conduit for the panels were mostly hidden inside the attic, and for the parts that could not be hidden, they took the time to color match them to my roof and side of my house... really impressed with their attention to detail.

I was referred to Ian of Ambrose Solar by a friend who recently had solar installed by them. (I did tell my friend if it was one of the solar salespeople that hassle me when I’m shopping, I’ll refuse to do with them. They aren’t. I asked.) My experience was smooth and flawless and broken down as follows: Consultation: After giving Ian some basic information, he met with us to discuss what our “energy goals” were. I’m going to be completely honest here, I don’t see myself as a person with “energy goals.” However, it did get me to thinking how conservative we’ve been in using energy, and how nice it would be to crank the AC or heater without mentally calculating the loan I’ll need to pay off PG&E. After showing us an array of options presented in layman’s terms, we were able to choose a configuration that perfectly suited our needs. The Process: Ian clearly communicated what to expect at each step of the process, and how long each step would take (BTW, sale-to-install was about six weeks in my case). Throughout the process, Ambrose Solar gave me regular updates (but not obnoxious over-communication) of where we were at, what was required of me, and what I can expect to happen next. They were very accommodating to my schedule and met at my convenience. They were punctual for the installation appointments too. Installation: The workers that came to our house were professional and courteous. Before each installation appointment, they explained why they were there and what they were doing. The main takeaway here is that I wasn’t inconvenienced at all by any of the installations (I think for one of them the power was off for a few hours). Post-Install: Ambrose doesn’t just set it and forget it. I’ve had several follow-up calls, and a meeting post-install to make sure everything is working fine and that all of my questions and concerns have been addressed. For aesthetics, this didn’t factor much into our decision-making, but now that it’s up there, I think it looks pretty good. Also, I love the monitoring tools available. I highly recommend Ambrose Solar for your solar needs. You can’t go wrong with their trustworthy, reliable, and efficient service.

Great experience from start to finish. We began researching solar companies a year ago when we purchased our home. There were so many companies to choose from and so much information to learn. After a ton of research and reading reviews, I quickly realized that Ambrose was the way to go. Everyone from the get go was so responsive, friendly, and honest. Paris took in all of my questions, Paul came to my house and educated us on all things solar, in a way that we really understood, Pamela and Aubrey kept us in the loop and communication was wonderful. They even kept to their word and paid for two of our PGE bills while we were waiting for our installation. What's even better is that everyone in the company is local and really care about their community and the people in it! I would happily refer anyone to Ambrose every time.

I'm so glad I found Ambrose Solar! Researching which direction to go with Solar became an overwhelming task and my head was spinning. There are so many options and I felt like I was comparing apples to oranges. After reading the reviews of Ambrose, I contacted some of the reviewers and found that their experiences were authentic and consistently positive. From start to finish the Ambrose team was great. Every encounter was organized, friendly and professional. As a Financial Advisor by trade, numbers are very important to me. Ian took his time in the very beginning to make sure everything was very clear so I could be sure that I was going to get the best value for our specific needs. Our new system looks sleek and works like a charm. I just love watching that meter go backwards!!! We had completed a whole house remodel last year (top to bottom!) and thought we had made the home very energy efficient but still, the SunPower system is making a big difference in our PG&E bills. This past summer, my wife and I had an inground pool built. We were very happy with the pool, but even though we live in Northern California, the water temperature stayed on the cool side. We became interested in a solar pool heating system that warmed the water by slowly pumping the pool water through panels, heated by the sun. After doing some research, we contacted Ambrose Solar, to get more information and an estimate. Within a couple days, we met with Ian Finger to discuss our options. Ian was very professional and personable, he listened to what we wanted and assessed our pool and roof situation. Without giving any kind of hard sell, he also evaluated our PG&E costs and expectations. With the new pool, our PG&E bill was getting closer and closer $500 per month and we wanted a heated pool without additional cost. Ian was very knowledgeable and told us they could install a system, like we originally requested, but our PG&E bill would actually increase. He explained, for the pool water to be warmed by the sun, the pump had to run more, which used more electricity. We thought we would have to go without a warm pool, then Ian suggested we consider solar “electric” panels. He provided all the data to show we could get a system that would support an electric pool heater and the electricity for our entire home (including AC). The monthly cost of the system was almost 50% of what we were currently paying PG&E. We considered our choices and reviewed the information, then decided to go solar for the house and pool. Ian and the Ambrose Team guided us through the financing process and our panels were delivered within a week of approval. Ambrose Solar took care of all the coordination with PG&E, to get us connected to “The Grid”, once the system was installed. When it was all finished and we were authorized to turn the system on, it had only been 5 weeks from our initial meeting with Ian. Lucky for us, everything happened much faster than expected. We were originally given an estimate of 8-10 weeks. Our system is amazing and is delivering the results we expected. We are able to monitor what we produce and how much we are using from any computer, tablet or smart phone. It provides information by the hour, day, week, month, and year. Now our pool is maintained at a comfortable temperature and we produce enough electricity to cover our needs. We highly recommend Ian and the Ambrose Solar Team to anyone considering going solar. They are very professional and helpful through the entire process. Their panels are the highest quality and have the best guarantee available. Because of what's happening with PG&E, even if you're not interested in Solar, you need to speak with Ian Finger or one of his staff ASAP. I am a numbers guy and I met with several other companies and did my research, I even created an Excel spreadsheet for my comparison. Not only did I get solar with Ian on my last home, I went with him AGAIN on my new home. I have confidently recommended Ian to my friends, family and church. Ian and his staff at Ambrose Solar are truly the best. They answered every question I had and they proved time and again that customer service and care is their top priority. Ambrose Solar is definitely the way to go solar!

Ian is amazing, he walked us through the process from start to finish. Ian gave us all the important information and answered all of our questions because he knows his product and gave us the right size system for our specific needs. The Sun Power solar panels (with a 25 year warranty including materials, labor, and inverters) were installed in just a few days and look great. My wife and I just recently retired so our goal was to stabilize our energy cost each month. Our system generates enough power to pay our gas charges and we currently have a $350.00 credit with PG&E! You cannot go wrong with Ambrose Solar, what a wonderful experience!

Ambrose Solar provides a service second to none. While we didn't buy our system from Ambrose, I wish we had, and here's why: Local presence and Outstanding Customer Service! You see, we bought our system from another Sunpower dealer/installer back in 2013, but they've since gone out of business - I only discovered this because our system had a problem requiring dealer support, and when I tried to call, their phone was disconnected. Recent reviews on Yelp tell the story - declining customer service, increasing complaints. It's a sad story and no wonder they're out of business. So I connected through Chat with Sunpower (they warrant their products regardless of dealer/installer) and they advised to locate another dealer/installer via their locator utility on their website. I called the first dealer on the list (510 area code), but since I wasn't already a customer, and they weren't really nearby (I'm in Vacaville), they weren't too eager. A call to the next on the list (916 area code) yielded similar results. And then I spotted Ambrose - a 707 area code! (Why Ambrose wasn't first is a mystery - the locator uses zip code.) As it turns out, Ambrose is right here in Vacaville! A call to Ambrose yielded results - Ian was incredible! It was afternoon when I called, but he was able to get a crew to my home that day to start the troubleshooting (all Sunpower could tell me was 'Inverter down' - in other words, 'not making electricity'!) The crew started troubleshooting our inverter (an older model), tried to connect with Sunpower technical support to help them with the fault codes, but Sunpower wasn't available. However, the Ambrose crew returned the very next day, solved the problem, got the system back up and running, and we're back on line. Ian and his Ambrose crew were outstanding and I can't thank them enough. I highly recommend Ambrose for their outstanding customer service, availability, and local presence!

Talk about local, I went to elementary school with Ian's wife. I went to middle school, high school and college with Ian and Pat. These guys are here to stay! When I found out that Ambrose Construction was offering Solar I got excited. After meeting with 10 different solar company's and looking at pricing and warranty, Ambrose Solar was able to not only compete but gave me the best service. Within weeks I had solar and started producing power and saving money! Ambrose Solar is a company I trust. They were good guys in high school which you cant say for most people, LOL. The only negative thing I could say was that they were hard to find on the internet and that's why I'm writing this review! People need to know about this company
