My rather large driveway project involved removing old pavement and installing new asphalt pavement. The job was done with very advanced professional equipment and exactly as I requested. The workers who did the job were obviously very experienced professionals. Joe Lucas, the owner, came to the jobsite to oversee the job and to make sure it was done right. He instructed me personally on how to care for the driveway until completely cured. He came back to inspect the job a few weeks after completion and recommended an oil seal application and gave me an excellent low cost to do it. That job was done right away and also turned out beautiful. I am very pleased that I chose Alpha Paving to do my driveway replacement and would highly recommend them.

Mike Wasso was an excellent project manager, with patients and amazing customer service. He came out to our street several times and met with neighbors to insure all parties were on-board. It all started out great. I own a 4 plex and the adjacent property (also a 4 plex that mirrors mine) owner got 3 bids. I checked reviews on Yelp & Home Advisor and because of the great reviews chose Advance Asphalt. The adjacent property owner said ok (we share a common driveway in need of new asphalt; as well as, our individual carport areas).The day after the job was complete dirt, sewage, and waste started to fill up the toilette & tub of my lower unit. An issue we never experienced before. When the plumber came out there was a huge chunk of asphalt blocking the pipe in the sewer box. A box Advance Asphalt raised 2" to accommodate for the asphalt overlay. The owners father and an employee came and chiseled out the asphalt, under the asphalt was a huge amount of dirt that ended in my waste disposal pipe. After they emptied out the broken up asphalt & dirt into one of my tenants garbage cans (and told me not to worry because they would empty the can, which of course they didn't) didn't assume responsibility because there wasn't a cap (or popper) over the waste pipe. They also didn't or wouldn't tell me how the asphalt ended up hardened inside my sewer box, and since dirt ended up in the pipe it was basically my problem. When I called the owner he put me on speaker phone (since his Dad was the one who came out we were all 3 trying to talk). They use heavy machinery that vibrates, and the fact that we had no cap that would have stopped any material from falling into your sewer pipe. But aren't they aware as a contractors operating such equipment that that could have happened, and should have checked when he raised it? He obviously didn't bother to look in the sewer box or he would have seen the asphalt that ended up on top of that mess sealing it in. Why did asphalt end up in the sewer box? Then his Dad had the audacity to lie and said the plumbers said it wasn't their fault, I was there the whole time and that was never said. Obviously it was put there and most likely so was the dirt. At the end of the frustrating call he said "What do you want I'm willing to work with you!" My bill was over $2,000 to repair what happened. He assumed no responsibility and said he would maybe help with $200. During this tag team (on their part) 3 way convo I was made to feel like a stupid female. I was told I wasn't understanding, yet the answer as to why asphalt ended up in the sewer box was never answered. I even suggested having them talk to my husband, and he replied have your husband call, I'm busy and hung up on me. I have an idea keep your $200, my husbands time is too precious to bother contacting you.

Mike called me and was willing to come and give me an estimate. this was a small job and he advice me on what needed to be done. When they came in to do the job, they were on time and cleaned up after they were done. I found Mike very professional and easy to talk to, he listen to my suggestions and I could not be happier with the work they did. Many had turned me down because the job was too small, but not Mike. I highly recommend him.

I would highly recommend Advanced Asphalt. Mike and his crew are all professional, hard working, very easy to communicate and work with and honest. The processes and steps required to redo our large driveway was made clear to me at the beginning of the project along with the pricing. The work that followed was on point with our planning discussions and price proposal. The end result is a real quality product that we are very proud of. My next-door neighbor also decided to hire Advanced Asphalt for his driveway. Again, I would definitely recommend Advanced Asphalt and will use them again for any of our future home projects.

honest, timely, reliable

Mike gave us an excellent job, executed in a timely manner with his professional crew and equipment. We have a 6,200 SF asphalt drive that has had no maintenance for the 43 years we have owned our house, except patching near the edges a couple of times and dealing with a failed entry apron with occasional hand patching. Mike provided a thorough walk-through, giving more input than our other bidders, and suggesting a 2 inch asphalt overlay and a slot drain (channel drain) in front of the garage as an option. His basic bid was the lowest, and we added the drain as an extra - well worth it. We agreed on a start date, then Mike suggested an earlier date, and we agreed. One day of prep required, grinding roots, saw cutting for the slot drain, and some excavation to join existing pavement and provide a solid foundation at the entry apron. The next day, Mike was driving the paver, truck after truck arriving with asphalt, two rollers operating, and a crew of seven quite busy, including traffic control. They were done by noon, soon cleaned up, and all looking perfect. After the first week, we remain very happy with the results and the relatively painless construction process. We recommend the firm without reservation.

Mike was very helpful on pointing out pros and cons about our project that other contractors did not He made reconmadations that if he were living here. Mike and his team definitaly know what they are doing from arriving on time, to laying down the asphalt, even cleaning up site after work was completed, cleaner after then before they showed up. Advance Asphalt was on time and on budget, We had some surprises on jobsite on underground from previouse owner, But Mike and his team handle it with not a hick up in completion time. Everyone on the street is asking me who done the work. Amazing Job guys would most certanley hire these guys again!!!!

The only reason I rated 4 is because it's too soon to know if they did the proper way for the paving to last 20 to 30 years as they say. Right now the driveway looks really good. I just hope they did not put less asphalt from what they said in the contract because from the outside it looks thin to me. Other than that they were efficient and they left the place cleaner than before.

These guys are real pros. This was about a 500 foot narrow (10') driveway with a couple hairpin turns. It hadn't been maintained for over forty years. It was a real mess with high spots, sunken spots and lots of pot holes. Mike Wasso gave me a bid considerably less than the others. They came in and did the job in a single day and it is beautiful.
