Coastline Tile & Shower

Working with David and his Coastline crew has been unparalleled in terms of proficiency, efficiency and expertise. Additionally, the responsiveness and level of accountability has been phenomenal. Our townhouse project was a bathtub to shower conversion. This is a vacation home for us, so remarkably, it all was managed while we were 3000 miles away. David's workers had access to our home, and were trustworthy and responsible. Daily photos were sent to us all along the way, so we were always updated on the progress. The project was completed on schedule exactly as promised. Any questions or concerns that we had were answered immediately, even when David called us from his vacation in Greece! David's responsiveness, good cheer and reassuring manner eased any and all concerns. Our shower installation now looks modern and beautiful due to the precision quality of the workmanship that was provided. We have the utmost respect for David and Coastline, and recommend him wholeheartedly!

The job went badly from the start. On the first day Nick who did demo of tile floor made a huge mess. He parked his truck in garage cut wood and tiles so sawdust and tile dust went everywhere. Then he told me he dropped a screw in the new drain wanted to know if I had a tool to get it out. When I said no he goes to hardware store gets magnet to attempt to get it out and then lies to me said he got it. I not believe him so I asked to see it he said its in his pocket but refused to show me alleged screw. Second day he here throws his trash in my neighbors trash can. Dumps tile dust in my planter outside the garage. Then after numerous screw ups they go to re install my shower door Richard drops the frame it hit my adjacent tile tub hard and dented it! I was standing there watching so I saw it happen. They were supposed to replace the dented door but never did. Now I have to attend to it and pay for a new door which is expensive. Grouting on the edge is cracked. I sent pictures to Matt the manager and called to request they fix it. Matt said he would send Jared to fix it but I have to wait three weeks until April 25, 2017. He never gave me a set time so I called the day before to ask what time Jared the tile guy would arrive and Matt the manager refused to take my call! I left a message but no response and on the 25th NO SHOW. These people are terrible. A lot more happened but I am trying to be brief.

When I initially called for a quote, David was at lunch. He called back within an hour. He quoted the price for the shower pan, and the enclosure. I accepted the quote as it was very reasonable. The work was scheduled. Jared showed up on the appointed day, and on time. Within a day and a half, it was finished. Jared left absolutely no mess. Next up, Weslee came to measure for the enclosure. As before, he showed up, on time. I was told it would be 7~10 working days for the enclosure to be finished. I was happily surprised when they contacted me within a week to schedule the installation. Robert showed up on time and went right to work. The enclosure was installed within a few hours. When finished, he thoroughly cleaned up any mess. There was a little leakage, which was promptly fixed. We are very pleased with the quality of work done, and the price. I must also say that Matthew the scheduler was very helpful and friendly. We will be contacting them again when we have to do a tub conversion in the master bath.

I had a tile shower put in by coastline. They did a great job for a good price. My only complaints are they should work on their responsiveness. On several occassions I had to call two or three times and send a couple emails to get a response. Also they changed there arrival time at the last minute a couple times. That being said I would use them again, but I hope they work on this.

Poor quality of labor and installation.

We needed to replace our shower when we moved into our condo.......Coastline did a great and efficient job!

I have had nothing but problems with the shower. The shower head leaked. There was a pinhole leak in the plumbing cause the water to ruin my carpet and go down the stairs. I  could not use my shower for a length of time. They came out and repaired the hole, plumbing and the shower head. Then the grout started cracking inside the shower floor and the grout was wet all the time.They came out and re grouted it and they added stuff to the grout to make it stronger, but the stuff they added to it only made it more ridged and worse. Now they are refusing to come out and fix it another time.

I moved into a mobile home a block from the ocean with hidden problems not caught by two different home inspectors. Both bathrooms had water leaking problems in the showers - one tub and one stall. As a single woman I found myself getting a major run around from the contractor who did the work and finally had to repair at least one shower out-of-pocket. I obtained six estimates and Coastline came in about middle on price but other factors including professionalism, project scope definition, and helpfulness caused me to select them. Most of their employees were real craftsmen. There was one that did a sloppy job (grouting especially) but Dave from Coastline sent out a really skilled tile person to completely re-grout the walls and floor. He did it on my schedule, promptly returned every one of my calls and emails, and left no doubt that doing things right was important. I doubt Coastline made much profit on my project when all was said and done but I was treated with complete respect throughout. If you ask me, this was a true test of a company's values and ethics. They came through with flying colors.

Overall the best contractors that we have ever hired. They were on the expensive side, but it was well worth it. The Coastline guys really know what they are doing. They went to great lengths to ensure that the shower would never leak again. They had to take out all the tile that was put in by the other guys. They put a waterproof lining in the walls and a thick vinyl sheet was used for the shower pan, the previous guys just put the tile over the cement board. Also the tile craftsman from Coastline did a excellent job of tiled and grouting the entire space. It took about two week,s but they had every step mapped out perfectly. All the workers were really skilled and respectful of our old, old house. They charged extra to take off the custom doors and glass on top of the tile wall. I would recommend them highly and I would use them again!
