It was a good experience.  The contractor was very accommodating with my schedule.  He discussed the project with me and he was accommodating to my desires and whatever I needed.  He wasn’t the cheapest but he wasn’t the most expensive either.  He did professional work and he was the only contractor that I spoke with that provided photographs of finished products that his business had done.  I liked his work and he did a good job.  The only thing that was discouraging was, he works on a time schedule on different projects and trying to schedule different projects so I understood but when the project first started, I had a concrete slab in the backyard already, he called me the day of, and I was sleeping because I work nights.  He said Hey, I am going to send my crew over to breakup that old slab” and at that time, being woke up by jackhammer wasn’t pleasant but I understood.  Even though we had agreed on the price and signed a contract, I didn’t know exactly when he was going to start and he just showed up and started.  I was okay with it but it was just shocking to hear somebody in my backyard when I didn’t really expect him there because I didn’t know exactly when he was going to start.  He was professional and he was outstanding about being responsive.
