Joaquin & Alex Figueroa

Having your hardwood floors refinished while you're living in your home can be difficult.  You have to remove all the furniture, empty closets and lose access to parts of your house while the floors are being sanded and while the new finish is applied and dries.  The Figueroa brothers made all this seem effortless.  They very carefully covered cabinets, air vents, alarm systems and all objects that could not be removed to protect them.  They were prompt, cheerful and professional.  They removed doors and hardware that were in the areas to be refinished and when they were done they replaced everything and left each room in perfect condition. These gentlemen were a pleasure to have in my home.  For a small additional fee they  replaced all the quarter round molding in my house, added a threshold and trim molding to cover gaps between a wall and a brick fireplace.  All their sanding equipment had bags attached to catch the saw dust  but when they were finished, they very carefully vacuumed the walls to remove any residual dust. The job took place over a week because we had to move from one half of our home to the other.  Joaquin and Alex were very accommodating, giving us the extra time we needed to make this move.
Other quotes we received from Angie's list recommended hardwood floor refinishing companies were in excess of $5,000.  These companies wanted us to completely move out of our house during the process.  Because I have six cats and three dogs, moving out really wasn't practical.  Doing it by sections worked for us and the Figueroa brothers made it possible by being flexible.
The Figueroa brothers were not listed on Angies' List but came very highly recommended by C-Bek Tile company who is.  C-Bek gave me a quote to re-do my kitchen counters and recommended Joaquin and Alex as a very professional hardwood floor service.
I didn't use C-Bek because I decided to keep my existing counters (slate) but I'm really glad I took their hardwood floor recommendation.
