Help My Headlight/headlightsovernight - listed in La Jolla, CA
Pre-purchased a head light restoration via Groupon. Waited a couple of months to schedule appointment in order to let initial surge of groupon purchases dissipate.
Schedule request must be submitted online. Following initial schedule request, the company did not respond to initial scheduling request for six days. When initial response was received from the company, it was not customer service oriented. The verbiage in the response came across as if they were doing me a favor. It included many restrictions on me, the customer (must have 4 hour window, can't reschedule except for rain...etc) with lots of disclaimers for the company.
Requested a one hour window vice a four hour window. Company never acknowledged or responded to the request.
Established an appointment.
The tech arrived 20 minutes after appointed time, but within the four hour window. No notification of a delayed arrival was provided beforehand. Tech was very unprofessional in appearance, wearing torn, worn, and rumpled street clothes, and personally disheveled. He appeared to have only been awake a short period of time and was still waking up.
Tech commenced work. He only explained the process when prompted with questions. The factory clear coat on the lights was "mostly" removed by wet sanding. A polish was applied to make the lenses shine after the tech stopped sanding.
From a distance, the lights look good. But upon closer inspection, areas of opaque film can still be seen. Tech did not acknowledge them when they were pointed out and asked to removed as well. This was not "extra" area, the areas where the film existed were in the center of the headlight lens. Tech appeared more interested in doing something quickly and moving on than doing a good job.
Based an all the various issues and marginal technical performance, I decided to discontinue engagement and allow the tech to move on.
The company appears to be ran out of the trunk of the techs personal car.
