The person I spoke with who did the walk-through with me but did not explain that the crew were not conversant in English and he would not be leading it. Never checked in with me to see how it was going. They did not supply much in the way of moving materials, which he indicated they would have. Had to make a run to the UPS store to be able to finish the job. A lot of boxes that were not supposed to go to the house were crammed in making it difficult to get to the things we need now. The crew was very nice, hard-working, fast - like The Tasmanian Devil - but could not understand instructions. They seemed confused about the tip but it was fair (15%) for the labor, especially since I fed them lunch so they would not get sloppy and break things. They seemed confused about how payment was to be collected as well. I realized later they each represented other firms besides Smart Moving (Cheap Moving Company, and Sea Dragon Moving). The only one connected to Smart Moving was named Steve Louis and he has yet to follow up. Now I am a widowed senior citizen having to sort the confusion stacked in my house. It will take weeks...

The movers were on time, finished quickly, and were very polite and helpful. They worked very hard and stayed friendly and willing to go above and beyond the entire time. I would not hesitate to use Smart Movers again.

I recently had an extremely disappointing experience with a moving company that left me frustrated and stressed. From start to finish, the entire process was marred by unprofessionalism and carelessness that resulted in a multitude of issues. First and foremost, the movers arrived significantly late, throwing off our entire schedule and causing us to finish the move at a time we had not anticipated. This delay had a cascading effect on our day, inconveniencing not only us but also those who were helping us with the move. The lack of punctuality displayed by the movers was inexcusable and demonstrated a lack of respect for their clients' time. To make matters worse, the movers left our home in disarray. A hole in the hallway wall was an unfortunate result of their careless handling of our belongings. This incident was not only an eyesore but also an additional expense that we now have to shoulder for repairs. Additionally, scuff marks on the apartment walls showed a complete lack of regard for the property they were entrusted with. It is evident that they lacked the necessary skills to carry out their job without causing damage. The unprofessional behavior extended beyond the physical damages. When we attempted to communicate our concerns about their late arrival and the subsequent issues, the movers were dismissive and uncooperative. Negotiating the price with them was a frustrating ordeal, as they appeared more interested in avoiding accountability than providing a satisfactory resolution. The entire experience left me deeply disappointed and questioning the reputation of the moving company. Moving is a stressful endeavor in itself, and the role of professional movers is to alleviate some of that stress. However, in this case, the movers only exacerbated our stress levels and left us with additional problems to deal with. In conclusion, I cannot recommend this moving company based on my experience. The combination of extreme lateness, damage to our property, and unprofessional behavior during interactions was unacceptable. When choosing a moving company, it's important to prioritize reliability, professionalism, and respect for clients' belongings. Unfortunately, this company failed to deliver on all fronts, leaving us with a negative impression and regret for entrusting them with our move.

The people that I spoke to one the phone about the project were in no way related to the individuals who came and moved my household.
