He estimated the cost. We saw material samples, picked one and went to local flooring wholesale store to buy the material. He negotiated to get us a 10% discount on material because we were buying nearly 900 sq. ft. The overall installation took about 4 days. We are still waiting for custom colored baseboard material to be shipped from flooring store, but the 800 sq. ft. has all been laid down. He also installed padded felt on the bottom of the furniture since we had no need for padding with the previous carpeting. The french door required removing an existing window and knocking out the surrounding wall, rerouting the electrical wiring, and repainting the inside surrounding wall and outside trim, and took about 2 and a half days. The crown moulding on a 18' x 17' room was custom angled, sanded, painted and sanded a little more and took about 2 and a half days.
