Although Vickie and her two sons were very competent, in some areas of design she didn't seem to listen well to what we were asking for. Twice she rebutted what we ask for and we went along, deferring to her professional opinion, but now regret we we didn't hold to our ideas. We would like to take out a large section of bark on the ground, but will live with. After seeing their web site, I realized they wanted to do their standard "installation", large sections of bark and stepping stones. She recommended these, which seemed really out of context of what we were doing, I think because it was her preferred model. Even her web site has pictures of a small BobCat tractor, which they like to use to charge for its use. So, I got the feeling sometimes the goal was to maximize the billing. Though her work was very good, sometimes she pushed too hard to do what she wanted, not really listening to what we were saying, not nuanced performance. When we brought in a younger person just starting out for gardening for smaller plants, she became upset and dropped us. Now we have to get some else to help us on the drip system. They may have sensed our wallets were worn out, buy I felt very unprofessional to drop us just because we were going to use them less. We are learning. Could be partly our fault, as my wife and I have little or no gardening or landscaping experience. In summary, cost controls are needed, and you need to guard against their profit generating tendency of too labor and equipment costs.
