Tillery's workmanship was subpar at best. For the wine cellar, there were places where he did not seal up joints and where the mud was not sanded. For all of the other work, I could have done the job myself and done it better. I consider myself an adequate handyman around small projects but find that it is better to let someone do the work who can get it done faster and, hopefully, better than I could do myself. Tillery's drywall was consistent in one thing, crappy work charged at the premium rate and delivered with a healthy dose of rancor and disdain. I am very dissatisfied with every aspect of this contractors work. He was handed the job by my general contractor and did not have to submit a quote. He, susequently, was very unprofessional in all of my dealing with him - Duwayne Tillery and clearly took advantage of a job handed to him. From the call after his so called work to "get my money out of you" to repeated requests for detailed invoices for materials, everything about this contractor breathes a lack of integrity and not even the slightest concept of customer service (he never asked if I was satisfied with his work OR if there was something that he missed). He upcharged for all materials and labor, as clear as I can tell from his shoddy invoice, to the tune of a 50% upcharge then charged me a 33% overhead and profit fee (OH&P) and then charged me for $120 worth of gas for a trip from Angels Camp to Mountain Ranch. That was $120 for a 50 mile roundtrip. I could go on and on about the rationale behind his obvious lack of customer service, professionalism and gouging when given a job on a silver platter, however, suffice it to say that I will never use Tillery's drywall again and discourage anyone considering the use of his services and that they should seek that work to be done by someone else - anyone else!!
