Dana Nelson Painting

First off, you get what you pay for. We wanted a quality job done with top of the line paint. (the painter we used for years retired 2 years ago so we needed a new painter) We did get a bid that was lower but that contractor wanted to use, what we felt, was very inferior paint and said he could complete the job in 3 days. That told us that he was going to do a quick, cheap job. We always look for the right job at the right price. I literally met Dana Nelson while shopping in the local Dunn Edwards Paint store and got his card. The Dunn Edwards employee who was helping both of us told me later what a great guy he was. Dana has been in business since 1980, is licensed, bonded, insured and has worked by referrals and word of mouth. After coming to my home for an estimate I received a professional proposal via email the same night. His price was exactly what we expected to pay for a top notch paint job with the best paint available (we used 3 different colors). We have two sets of double French doors. Also, lots of detail wood trim on the front of our 2 story home which has a steep light weight concrete tile roof and two very, very tall painted chimneys. Dana and his crew spent 2 full days prepping my house. They masked everything. Every seam on my garage doors and siding was caulked to create a flawless paint job. They removed all light fixtures and door hardware. He used special products to patch chimney cracks and foundation patching for excellent long term durability. He covered everything with drop clothes, he must have 50 of them. Every evening my home was left neat and organized. He took special care on my steep roof to be safe, not cracking any tiles or leaving any overspray on my tile roof. (a real pet peeve when I see it on other houses). Oh, and they even play great music while they work. (k-earth 101, the oldies station in my area!!) The result? Six days later, my home looks beautiful with crisp lines where colors change, no overspray anywhere and all my plants were in the same condition they were before the paint job. Would I use him again? You bet! In fact, I now call Dana Nelson, "my painter".
