The installation was for two brand new units requiring a permit for new installation. The work was to include a platform and be up to CA code, verified by the city permit. Work was finished in Oct and new tenant moved in Dec 22. In April, after 4 months of use, the new tenant had water leaking from the attic to her kitchen. Kevin sent workers to fix the issue and they said the ceiling repair would also be covered by them. By July, the units still did not work properly and the ceiling could not be repaired due to constant water and mold growth. I hired two other HVAC companies to evaluate the situation and they found the following issues in both units: incorrect permit pulled with city, attic duct work not sealed properly, no platform which meant no slope for water drainage, gas lines for furnace were attached to roof sheeting, rust and mold from all the water, incorrect drainage line installation and worst of all, the carbon monoxide exhaust was not connected to outside ventilation pipe - 1" apart. After I received the reports, I had both systems removed and new ones installed once mold remediation and structural repair was finished. All total, I was out over $25,000 to fix Kevin's bad installation. I filed a complaint with his bond company, who decided in my favor, which allowed our attorney to have some leverage to get a promissory note for the remaining balance to avoid court. Kevin was three days late paying on the note which had allowed him 60 days to get the money worked out. The state of CA is currently finishing their investigation and I am now helping another client of Kevin's begin the process as her system is completely unsafe to use as well.

Kevin arrived, on time, diagnosed, and repaired for $120.00 which included a new thermostat. He did a through job and didn't try to up sell me. I appreciate honesty in everyone, especially anyone I hire for expertise I don't have.
