Sunsational Skylights

Install took a day or two longer than anticipated but work was beautiful and worth it!

After signing the contract in early August  we were told that the job could not be started until early October. In the middle of October  Leamon  showed up to do the measurements and  order the new skylights. Three weeks later the skylights came in and the sub-contractor came out to install the new windows. After tearing off two of the seven skylights it was discovered that he had ordered the wrong replacement Skylights. Leamon came to the job sight and confirmed that the windows would not fit and was going to have order new windows. This caused another delay and during the time we were waiting, the two windows that were opened we leaking during the early November rains.  The new window came in after three weeks and it was discovered that the frames of the existing windows would have to be increased in slope to accommodate the new ordered windows. Another delay to order materials.. During this time I have to say that the communication between Leamon and us was almost none existent. This man has a real problem with follow up and communicating with the customer. Of the two subcontractors that work for Leamon only one knew what he is doing. Thank God he was the one to finish the work on the installation. Because of the scheduling of the sub contractors with his other jobs in progress the this installation did not get finished until January.  It was three to four days between the time the subs would show up to do the work, sometimes only once a week.. This job was a pure lack of management and communicating with the customer. I do have to say that Hector the subcontractor was very responsible and his work was excellent. We had also scheduled to have two solar tubes installed but after this experience we canceled that order. To this day we have problems with the solar shades installed in one of the windows. We have called Leamon twice in the last months. We were assured he would have some one out to repair it. To this day know one has showed up.If asked, I would not recommend this contractor for any major install for Skylights

Called the company to set an appointment to have the 3 solar tubes installed.  Chris, the office manager, wanted a 50% down payment on the cost of the solar tubes.  I said, per CA law, only a 10% deposit is required.  He took a 10% credit card deposit and made an appointment for the installation date.  Turns out, he had to cancel the installation date because all the parts did not come in. 

We rescheduled another installation date and only 2 solar tubes were installed because they needed extra tubing to go around the A/C in the attic.  I tried several times to reschedule the final appointment but the office manager kept putting me off (did not call back when he said he would).  When he finally called back, he said would Friday at 6:30 AM work?  I said, "No, please call me back with another time."  He never did and the owner, Leamon, ended knocking at my front door a little after 6:30 in the morning.

While the company means well and is accommodating with their time/resources, their lack of professionalism and responsiveness was very frustrating.  However, the next customer may have a difference experience.

Contacted this company based on a bunch of recommendations from my friends. Once I contacted them, an appt. was made to see where the tubes were needed. The owner, Leamon, came by and recommended soar tubes (I was originally going to get a sunlight window but he recommended the tubes). He recommended two tubes in my living room and I requested one in my study. Leamon was very professional and knowledgeable; a pleasure to deal with. Another appt. was set for the installer to come by and do the work. Once that person showed up, he double-checked the location and proceeded to install the tubes. I saw the work that night and was very pleased. I'm going to install another tube in another room soon.
