Truckee North Tahoe Pest Control

As a Truckee resident, I prefer to use local services. After acceptable but not stellar performance from another local pest control service over the years, I reached out to Truckee North Tahoe Pest Control based on a solid Angie's List Reviews, to perform an urgent rodent control.
I first contacted the service the morning of Sep 3, when I detected active squirrel and mice nests in my crawl space... they had gained access through a breach in the air conditioning supply wiring. The A/C contractor responded immediately and repaired the AC lines that same day, adding wire mess at the egress to prevent further rodent access. Now, I needed a pest control service quickly to eradicate the active pests/nests and remove any insulation where nesting occurred.
I reached the office on my first call and was told I would receive a call back later that day to discuss the details in preparation for scheduled service for the following day, Thursday Sep 4. I did not receive a call as expected so I reached back out to the office that afternoon and left a message. I then called the office again Thursday morning was told that services would indeed be performed that day. I was concerned already... how could services be performed, when the technician still hadn't talked to me about the situation as I was out of town and would not be home during the service. The next morning, Friday Sep 5, I called the office again. At that time, the office manager indicated that a technician had been at my home on Thursday as planned. I asked to receive a call from the technician who visited my home. At about noon Friday, while I was traveling, I received a voicemail from the owner Peter. In that message, Peter stated that my home was fine and there were no further services needed at this time. This is where my negative review comes into play. Peter, the owner of Truckee North Tahoe Pest Control outright lied to me. I even called him back Friday afternoon, leaving a voice message asking him to confirm his findings as they sounded suspect. Peter never returned my call. When I arrived home Friday night, Sep 5, to even more rodent damage had occurred, both inside and outside the home as animals trapped inside attempted to escape and those left outside wanted back in. It was clear that Peter, the owner of Truckee North Tahoe Pest Control lied to me, having never serviced my home as communicated. His lack of honesty with me not only resulted in further damage to my home but the death of a number of rodents that should and could have been prevented.
This was an urgent rodent need, and clearly Truckee Tahoe Pest Control was too busy to respond. All the firm had to do was be honest with me upfront during my first call, telling me that they did not have time to respond to my service request and recommending an alternative pest control firm. Rather, they led me along over a number of days and then blatantly lied to me, all while squirrels were doing damage to my home and eventually dying in the process. This was not my intent, and the outcome could have been so much better both for my home and the environment had Truckee North Tahoe Pest Control responded to my request in a professional manner.

I found out about them through a recommendation from another service provider. They were great. I give them the highest ratings across the board.
