During the escrow period, this contractor was fairly diligent about working on the various items that needed to be completed or corrected. However, once the escrow closed and he received his money, he was very slow to respond and had no incentive to complete the work. He was very unprofessional in his attitiude and would never commit to a time frame in writing or verbally. In spite of many calls and emails from us and our realtor, he just walked off the job leaving us with many items to complete and correct. We gave him 18 months to complete his items (that he acknowledged in the sales contract). We ended up having to spend about $5,000 out of our pocket and invest lots of our time to have items finished. In this process, we discovered that this contractor does all the work himself, instead of using specialized sub contractors. This resulted in many problems, such as our hydronic heating system being installed incorrectly with no shut off valves that we can access.
