I picked john out of the phonebook to bid on completely refinishing 500 sf of madrone hardwood, some of which had been damaged when the (new) neighbor's roof unloaded 4 ft of snow which busted through an exterior door into the living room. We interviewed each other on the phone; I was impressed with John's knowledge, and willingness to share it. I'm not sure what John was impressed with, but he agreed to have a look at the floor the next morning. He appeared at the appointed time and discussed in detail what he would do at a no-nonsense price of $3.50 / sf. Was very knowledgeable about how to approach different species of woods, uses all the latest nearly dust-free sanding equipment, is completely up-to-date on sealing and finishing products, and did a superb job on sanding and finishing. The floor looks better than new at a good price.
