"We were surprised to read this review on Angie’s list since we never heard back from the member after quoting him for the additional work. Unfortunately, plumbing systems are complicated, with numerous components, and occasionally the initial repair effort does not solve the problem so more sophisticated techniques are required. We constantly strive to provide the most effective repair for the lowest price. We believe that it would have been unfair to charge the member $800 for a camera and high pressure clean out during the initial visit, when our experience has shown that the use of a rooter cable typically solves 90% of plumbing blockage problems. The plumber sent to do the job is 51 years old, with 35 years of experience as a plumber."
"It is unfortunate that she was disappointed with our service in February 2009. The description of the work done that she gave is accurate, along with the first two sentences of her comments: “The worker was polite and in the end I had heat. The problem arose again in September” (7 months later). When she requested the work done, she authorized the repairs, and acknowledged that the repairs were successful, and the repairs held for 7 months. We apologize if the Torrance Plumbing representative did not timely return her call and he was rude – there is no excuse for that; on Saturday we operate a skeleton crew for emergency service. Heating and air conditioning systems require maintenance and upkeep, including replacing and cleaning the filters, which can lead to repeat problems if not maintained. We feel that it is unrealistic to expect a complete refund for work that she admitted was successful – for 7 months – let alone reimbursement for additional damage caused by ancillary problems.
