After three failed efforts over the previous 6 month period with two banks and a huge credit union, I was looking for a highly competent mortgage broker who was was within a few miles (and therefore knew our area) and, most important to me, really CARES about the client. I learned of Athena Paquette from reading the earlier review, and met her early January. In summary, every word of that review was accurate, and much more.
What took weeks for others, Athena accomplished in days. As a result, instead of taking a month or so find out that a great-looking refi wouldn't fly (as others had), this disappointment was behind us in two weeks. Then, instead of stringing me along for another month or so without even a hint of an acceptable alternative, Athena was already lining up very good refi - still saving me twice as much cash flow as anyone else ever came up with. I don't know what combination of refi smarts and just really caring about what I told her I needed enabled her to do what others didn't or couldn't (I think it took both), but this is just what I was looking and hoping for when I chose Athena.
At every stage of the process, Athena was available to help, advise, plan strategy, facilitate, fight for my interests, and keep my time and effort to a minimum. In the course of 3 meetings and 20 email exchanges she achieved 'the impossible', and with less effort on my part than any of my previous refi disappointments.
In my experience with home finance, Athena is as good as it gets - knowledgeable, skilled, smart, thorough, and efficient, as well as thoughtful, helpful, and - did I say - caring!
