An excellent experience right from the start. Paul came to our house with a package already prepared based on the location and house size. After discussions he left and sent us proposals with a couple of options to fit our situation. Michelle scheduled our date and explained the process so that we knew what was going to happen every day. I was glad that city permits were included as a normal course of business. This was not the case for some of the other contractors that we spoke to. Neat and clean job done by Luis and Edwin. It looked very complicated. They were very respectful of our property and carpets. Thorough clean up every day. City inspection passed with no issues. I can't wait for the summer to enjoy my new ac!

Our house is hard to cool because it has solid concrete wall with no insulation. The AC would run all night and only cool the place one degree. Paul fixed our problem by being the only person that actually made calculations to give us the correct size unit with the correct intake and return pressures for our house. We then let him do our wine cellar. He figured out an ingenious way to get a large enough AC unit into the cellar without it being seen. A top notch problem solver!! Worth the price many times over.

I called a couple of places and they were the ones who had time. They seemed really nice and they were a family owned business. They guy that came out was extremely friendly and forthcoming.

- Edwin and Luis arrived on time, were very respectful. Did the job in the timeframe they quoted and left my space as they found it. Paul the boss did the walk through after everything was completed and explained everything before and after. Michelle in the office is very friendly and professional.

P & M was professional, clean, polite and punctual. The entire on-site team put little booties on over their shoes EVERY time they walked into my house! The new system is also very quiet and efficient. The entire process from the initial visit through to completion was done well. Michelle in the home office is also a joy to work with. I highly recommend P & M for any heating and air conditioner work one might need.

Wonderful. Jack was on time, clean, helpful, and explained everything. He fixed everything that needed to be fixed and explained everything along the way. I will most definitely use them yearly to perform maintenance or anything else that is needed.

P & M responded promptly to my request for service, offering a two hour time slot, and Paul Mingham arrived on time. He made repairs to a forced air furnace. Because the furnace is over 40 years old I expected to hear that it must be replaced now but Paul said that we could use it safely through another season. We have found an honest man! I asked for a replacement estimate and received it the next day, complete in detail and with a fair price. Paul is a gentleman and courteous, and knows his business. Also, in my initial phone call Michelle and an aide were helpful and pleasant. I will definitely call P & M in future for all space heating needs.

One day, without warning, my 8 year old central air-conditioning unit didn't start when I lowered my thermostat. I heard a faint electrical grunt each time the air-conditioner tried to start but after that the only thing that came out of my vents was uncooled air.
After checking the breakers and looking to see if there was anything obviously wrong, I checked on Angie's list to see if I could find a reputable company to fix the problem. I called P&M Mechanical Heating and Air Conditioning Service on a Monday afternoon because they had great reviews and ratings. I talked with Michelle who asked a few question who then told me they were available to come out the next morning. The next morning, a very nice repair guy, Jack, arrived on time, asked me a few question then said he had thought he knew what the problem might be, checked out the electrical components of my compressor and found the problem, a failed capacitor, in 30 seconds, which was fantastic and quite a surprise.
Jack had the part in his truck, explained that the part was one that frequently failed and quickly replaced it and everything was back to normal within about 15 minutes.
P&M Mechanical did a great job and has earned my trust and future business. I plan to call them to do the annual service on my heater/airconditioner unit and will recommend them to any friends that need heating / air service or repair.

I contacted Michelle on Monday morning and she told me that she could get someone out to us between 1 and 3 the same day. She told me that the technician would call us to let us know when he would arrive. He did so and was here before 2 p.m. Jack, the technician, conducted himself in a very friendly, confident, competent and professional manner. He diagnosed the problem very quickly. The compressor and condenser fan motor were not running. Upon further inspection, he found the capacitor was not operating as well. He replaced it and told us the air should be cooling fairly quickly and that he would come in and check it after a few minutes. He then went to his service truck and filled out a sticker with the information regarding what parts he had replaced and what repairs he had made and affixed it to the unit. He came in the house, sat down at the table with us, and went over the repairs again and made sure to give us the 10% Angie's List discount. We will certainly call P & M Mechanical again, should the need arise.

Very responsive -- I called on a Friday morning looking for a second opinion on replacing my furnace and coils as suggested by a technician from another HVAC company (a $6,000 cost). Cynthia rearranged her Monday schedule to send someone over first thing that morning. Jack arrived promptly and asked me some questions. Based on my answers (the unit was giving us cold air, no funny sounds or decreased output), he said it didn't sound like the system needed to be replaced, but he would know for sure after the tune-up. Turned out Jack only recommended additional freon. He set my mind at ease, serviced my furnace and condenser, and gave me great grilling ideas to boot!

Paul and Michelle were fabulous. Paul had come out two years earlier for an estimate. He articulated why adding air conditioning wasn't a good value and explained why my roof structure wouldn't make it so. When I called again in 2013, they still had bids from two years prior on file and were able to update them and send them out very quickly. I got confused by some of the options and they didn't hesitate to go through them with me multiple times. The timeline they provided was thorough and work took place right on schedule. Paul realized that there was a cost saving to be had and made sure we got it with no loss in quality and function. They looked out for us.

P&M Mechanical came out to give a quote and go over our options. This went very smoothly and they provided plenty of information. After settling on the details, we were given an estimate we were happy with and decided to move forward. They scheduled a three day period in which to do the work. The workers showed up on time and were very pleasant. They did the work efficiently and did not cause any disruption in our daily routine.
After the work was complete, they helped schedule the city inspector. The inspector said they had done excellent work, although there was one issue with the gas pressure. P & M promptly scheduled another visit and a minor leak was found and sealed. After the inspector returned and signed off on the work, P & M did a final walk-through and discovered one other minor issue the inspector missed (a small section that required insulation). This was also quickly fixed, and we have been very happy with the results. We appreciated the attention to detail that went in to the job.

Out of all the business we contacted, these guys were by far the best. They took time to work with us to find the best plan to fit our budget and provided a quote on the spot. Everything is also arranged through the office so scheduling and communication was very easy. And I cannot forget to mention the level of professionalism across the board from the office all the way to the men that came to do the installations. This is a very competent and trustworthy company and I would definitely use them again.

First, the owner spent over 45 minutes with me to assess the airflow issue. He drew pictures and took the time to explain the problem and what it would take to repair. He quoted a two-day job and a two-day job it was. Did I mention that the owner came to the job on day one three times to survey the work and get the team off on the right start? The entire experience was and A++ in my book and I would use them a again in a New York (okay Torrance) minute. The team was totally professional, respectful of my time and clean. During the entire process, Michelle walked me through what to expect in terms of timing, scheduling and inspection. This was a dream team to work with. Kudos to great customer service!

The company was flexible and very accommodating. After their workers removed our old furnace, they gave us a few weeks to paint the cabinet wherein the new furnace would be installed. During this time we also installed the new grates below the cabinet. The new heater installation was completed on schedule. The City's Building and Safety Dept. inspected and signed off on the installation a few days ago.

Paul answered our urgent call on a Sunday and gave an estimate that he'd arrive the next morning between 11 and 1 and arrived at 11:20. He did some excellent troubleshooting to find our pretty obscure problem and promptly repaired it giving us confidence that the problem would not recur during the holiday. He clearly knows what he is doing.
We are totally satisfied and are considering replacing our 25 year old furnace. He will definitely be the one doing the work as he fully lived up to t he excellent reviews we had read on Angie's list before calling him,
