+ -1 moreThis project went very smooth and came in under budget. The sub-contractors Mr. Mitchell used were very reliable, punctual, and courteous. Because I live in a small house with only one bathroom and I am handicapped it was imperative that the coordination of the project be done with minimal disruption. All phases of the remodel were done with my comfort and convenience in mind.. The entire project, from demo to conclusion, was done in three weeks and came in approximately $2000 under budget.
Description of Work: I used Jay Mitchell General Contractor for the second time in 2 years for a major remodel project. This project was a bathroom remodel to provide me with better handicap accessibility. It involved relocating the toilet, building a shower to allow wheelchair access, widening the doors, raising counter heights, changing and upgrading all electrical outlets and fixtures, and installing grab bars throughout.

The coordination of this remodel with my comfort and convenience in mind was Mr. Mitchell's foremost concern and he accomplished this remarkably well. This entire project, from demo to conclusion, was done in approximately 2 weeks and $2000 under budget.

Description of Work: My Spanish-style home was built in 1922 and was in need of a general upgrade and face lift. I hired Jay Mitchell to oversee this project . The project involved complete electrical upgrades, new copper plumbing, new roof, new windows and doors, new insulation, new exterior plaster, new front veranda with unique stone work, and re-landscaping front and rear. I cannot be any happier with Mr. Mitchell and the services he performed. All work from all his sub-contractors was excellent. The project was completed on time and definitely within budget.

+ -1 moreIt was a very good price and work. Nothing about this process that wasn't fantastic. The work could not have been better. It was perfect. The work came in right at the estimated price and on time. I've had serveral remodelling jobs, and this was the best I've ever had. Fantastic. A++ in all categories.
Description of Work: Estimate and work. Remodelled bathroom. Installed new windows and doors. Installed a skylight. Performed crown molding.

Description of Work: Jay provided valuable information on the replacement and installation of windows in my 1920's house in California, USA. He was knowledgeable and gave his input and advice on the windows project as well as other work I was having done. His feedback allowed me to evaluate other bids I had received and he gave me ideas on projects I was doing myself (painting and refinishing floors). He was honest and recommended a cost effective solution which did not involve his services. I respect that Jay had the integrity to steer me in the right direction even though it meant he didn't receive any business. He freely shared his experience and expert knowledge. I would certainly use Jay if I had another project and would recommend him highly!
