The rj45 cable had been damaged. Our DVR was connected to a VCR hub that ran video to monitors upstairs. It is actually quite an elaborate system. A very nice repairman, named Joe, came to our home and was able to figure out what had gone wrong and fix it. The cameras were not looking real crisp on screen and Joe was able to find out the reason why and get it fixed as good as new. There weren't many DVR repair types listed on Angie's list or the Yellow Pages for that matter. There were two on Angie's list I had sent requests to, and they ignored me....I will be giving them an "F". Brent's was helpful and promptly sent someone who fixed it on site at a very reasonable price.

Joe, the technician, a very friendly person, at first was as puzzled as I was. He'd never seen anything like the problem our TV was having. After about 15 minutes of fiddling around, he figured it out. The TV works great. He only charged $55 for his time. I consider that a bargain.

I took TV to the store. A $35 deposit that would be applied to repair cost or cost of disposal if I decided to dump the TV. They called with estimate in a few days, reasonable $125, so I had the work done and picked up the TV the next day. It works like new again.
