Description of Work: My nine-year-old 42" Vizio TV essentially died... screen went to blue and no response to remote or buttons on TV. Expected to have to buy a new TV, but called Brent first to see if it could be fixed. Joe came out twice - first to disassemble and diagnose it and discuss whether to fix it, and second to do the actual fix. After seeing the insides of my Vizio, and seeing it was "built like a tank", learning my problem, and learning how delicate the new TVs are, I decided even tho' my repair would be a good proportion of the price of a new one, I decided to spend the money to keep my old Vizio, which still was serving me well. Joe got a new main board from Vizio (still available after 9 years!), installed it in my living room, reconnected and checked it, and all has been well since. I have been very pleased.

+ -1 moreThe rj45 cable had been damaged. Our DVR was connected to a VCR hub that ran video to monitors upstairs. It is actually quite an elaborate system. A very nice repairman, named Joe, came to our home and was able to figure out what had gone wrong and fix it. The cameras were not looking real crisp on screen and Joe was able to find out the reason why and get it fixed as good as new. There weren't many DVR repair types listed on Angie's list or the Yellow Pages for that matter. There were two on Angie's list I had sent requests to, and they ignored me....I will be giving them an "F". Brent's was helpful and promptly sent someone who fixed it on site at a very reasonable price.
Description of Work: We were having an issue with our upstairs surveillance camera video monitor.

Description of Work: I cannot say enough good things about the service performed by the technician, Joe. He was referred to me by a friend, plus I checked his other ratings and they were all 5 Stars! What I liked most about Joe was his persistance. My T.V. had no power at all and it wasn't immediately apparent what the cause was. It turned out to be a tiny wire that had come apart but needed a magnifying glass to find it...but he didn't give up until it was fixed. (Other techs would have given up and told me I needed a new T.V.) Then he adjusted all the settings and my picture and sound were never better! He was friendly, professional and honest. I will use Joe for all my repairs and installation of new home theaters in the future. He is very knowledgeable and experienced. I guarantee you won't be sorry!

+ -1 moreThe technician there took it in and I explained the problem and our tests, He connected it to power and his cable and there it worked just fine. He could have said that he would keep it and check it out for something subtle, but instead he said, "it probably really is in the cable. There's nothing we can do, it's working,". We took the TV home and tried it again. Now it worked fine. Our neighbor who once had a similar problem had had a repair man come to his house and said that usually all you need to do is unplug it and plug it back in That's what he did - $75.. Something inside resets automatically. I strongly recommend Brent's for having the ethics not to keep our set for what was a not-needed repair.
Description of Work: Our TV (1.5 year Samsung) stopped displaying the picture and put up a Cox signal that said approximately "COX signal is not getting through, call this number." We called. Cox said it must be in the connection or cable, try removing and replacing the cable connector. Did that; no change; same message. Other TV's in the house were working fine. Cox said must be the cable to that room; we'll have a man out there tomorrow morning. I connected a different TV to the same cabler. It worked fine ! ! ! I then figured the problem must be in the TV itself. The next morning I called Cox off and took the TV to Brent's.

+ -1 moreJoe, the technician, a very friendly person, at first was as puzzled as I was. He'd never seen anything like the problem our TV was having. After about 15 minutes of fiddling around, he figured it out. The TV works great. He only charged $55 for his time. I consider that a bargain.
Description of Work: The TV wouldn't respond to the remote control, and wouldn't respond to the buttons on the TV as well.

+ -1 moreI took TV to the store. A $35 deposit that would be applied to repair cost or cost of disposal if I decided to dump the TV. They called with estimate in a few days, reasonable $125, so I had the work done and picked up the TV the next day. It works like new again.
Description of Work: A 13 year old 27'' CRT TV had circular ''rainbow'' of color in picture. The sound was OK, I could see the picture, but the color was really messed up.
