BAILLIE R FLOORS

Robert Baillie did the estimate, and then sent various workers out to do the work. Floors were stripped, sanded, stained, and finished over the period of a two weeks. When we returned to inspect the work, we saw that the dark wood finish of the rough hewn planks had long white streaks in them. It was clear that the person who did the final sanding after the staining had gouged deeply into the wood, removing long streaks of stain and exposing the white pine finish underneath. Even though these streaks were numerous, and inch or more wide, and several feet long, the crew had ignored them and applied the polyurethane anyway. We called Robert Baillie to complain. He did not come out, but sent his workers with some kind of paint pen which they applied over the polyurethane in an attempt to hide the streaks. It looked terrible. We called Robert Baillie again. We hadn't seem him since the original estimate. This time he sent another crew out to redo the rooms. It took another two weeks. After we had paid for the work and were moving our things into our bedroom where they had laid new flooring, we realized that they had covered over the two heating ducts in the room. We would have no heat. We called Robert Baillie at least a half dozen times asking that he cut the holes, but he never returned our calls. We had to hire a carpenter to locate and cut the duct openings into the floor.
