+ -1 moreAthena is amazing! Her professionalism and knowledge about financial planning, coaching and teaching as a Mortgage Broker and Real Estate Investor is incredible! However it is surpassed by her passion to share it with others in a fun and practical way, making it easy and understandable, not at all confusing or overwhelming. I have learned so much in a short period of time from Athena! Her down to earth and friendly approach makes me feel supported, and that good financial planning and investment in real estate is indeed within my reach. Her Master's degree in spiritual psychology, along with her advanced degrees serve her well. I highly recommend taking her classes at Torrance USD, taking her teleseminars and seeing her 1:1 for coaching. You'll be very glad you did. And you'll look forward to the opportunity for her to be your Mortgage Broker! :)

+ -1 moreI have a 4plus year old FHA loan and have been considering refinancing to get rid of the PMI (mortgage insurance), since I have accumulated a considerable equity in my home. Luckily, I found Athena, who specializes in FHA loans. After a FREE consultation, and careful consideration of my current home loan, Athena advised me NOT to refinance. Ultimately, refinancing, even without the PMI, would result in a less favorable amount of my payment being applied to the principal of the loan. Also, since my loan was issued prior to a change in the PMI regulations, if I wait a year, I will be able to have the PMI discontinued. I'm so glad I can just recycle all the junk mail regarding refinancing now, without a thought!! Athena was very professional, helpful and pleasant to work with. Home loans can be so stressful, but she has a style that puts you at ease. She knows her stuff!!!! I would recommend her to anyone that needs mortgage services.

+ -1 moreThe most recent transaction I completed w/Athena was she helped my mother to finance her home for a remodel project. My mom was very nervous about assuming debt but Athena was very patient with her, modeled different loan examples, and explained everything very clearly. Most-importantly Athena didn't put any pressure on my mom and said if she changed her mind she could cancel the loan application which put my mom at ease. Everything went through like clock work and my mom is happy now and lining up contractors for the remodel project she's waited her whole life for. Athena not only has the knowledge and expertise to assist her clients, but most importantly she is passionate about educating them and it's clear that she truly cares and wants the best for them. I recommend that you sign up on Athena's blog so that you can stay informed of all that she has to offer, including market updates, real estate investing advice, etc. If you are looking for great service, give her a try. I think you will be glad you did. I highly recommend Athena!

+ -1 moreYou are better off texting her or sending an email to her. She is always on the phone on hold with one lender or another she needs an answer from and it is easier for her to respond. She comes in later than most lenders do so she is in the office much much later than most lenders which means that you have a much better chance of getting a response from her after 5 pm. and you do not have to do it while you are at work. Athena is very detail orientated about locking the rates for her clients also because she watches the market and has a sense of what is going to happen.
Description of Work: I like and have used Athena's services for years and years for my personal loans on property that I own and I also recommend her to my clients. I feel that she is one of the most knowledgeable lenders that I know in the market place today. Ask her a question and she know what I am talking about. I have never had her not close on time with a loan over the many years that I have used her myself and for others. She has more loan relationships with lenders that have money to loan than most other lenders do which makes it possible for me and my clients to have more opportunity to get the best loan available at the time. She spends a tremendous amount of time explaining the details of a loan to people. That in itself is unique. She herself owns other real estate than her home so that puts her way above most other lenders out there. She understands the ins and outs of interest rates and the things that make a loan good or not so good for a person. She shows people how to know what is actually happening as the years go by with their loan. She has just put together a website that is already chock full of useful information and I am sure will get better. She has even helped me when it came to including rental property into my retirement plan with my financial planner. Something most financial planners have no clue about at all.
