ADT Continued billing Deceased Account, Scammer ADT, Irresponsible ADT, ADT Unauthorized Billing Sleazy ADT Scam No 1. 1 ADT was informed of a death of its customer, and continued to bill the customer for months 2 In order to close the account, ADT Service Center insist that I tell them the Vocal Password (Note, the only person who would know that code is the Deceased Customer) 3 ADT disabled the Login to MyADT for the Primary Account and Secondary Account, which denied access to the account information, billing, and setup. 4 ADT gives a phone run-around to various departments when contacting ADP various occasions. 5 IN the meantime, ADT continues to bill the Deceased Customer Account for months. Scumbag ADT Scam No 2 ADT creates an account and bills my account, but at the same time, continues billing the Deceased Account, both at the same address known as Double-Billing. When informed of this, ADT refers me to another company whose phone number has “technical problems.” Irresponsible ADT Schedules an appointment for a Service Person to come out (not requested by me) to do whatever to the system AND bill for services. The Security System worked fine therefore there was no need to touch the system and BILL for ??? services. ADT calls an few minutes before their scheduled appointment range (Noon to 4pm) to state that the technician was ill and they need to reschedule the appointment a few days later. Not acceptable (ADT only has 1 technician and he/she is sick right before 4pm). Slimy ADT Unauthorized Billing I authorized a setup charge for $25.00 to be applied to a credit card. The credit card is not authorized for any other use. ADT charges the credit card for additional charges and fails to inform me. Upon noticing the unauthorized charges in my credit card account, I called ADT and the ADT Accounting Crook tried to inform me the purpose of the charges. If ADT were honest, they would have called me to inform me of the charges and requested a payment method. TOTALLY DISHONEST

Poor response time at call center when alarm going off. Price: you can get more reasonable fees with other companies. ADT has name and marketing (which you pay for), but any company can monitor.

They took over a company that installed our system, but we didn't know how our unit actually operated. We were living with two smoke detectors that weren't working. ADT didn't notify us or even know we had those smoke detectors. We called them up and they said they couldn't come out until weeks later (December 21). I spent 4 hours on the phone getting routed around to different departments trying to file a compliant. They made the date, at that time, December 18. On the third time the alarm went off they moved the date up again and then on the fourth time the alarm went off they told me to disconnect my system. I am still waiting for the work to be completed and I don't have an alarm. It's a mess! We have had a number of issues with their services actually. They want us to have a maintenance plan with them, but they can't fix any of the many issues we have. I feel like one of 8 million customers with them. They really didn't seem to care about our situation. The operators are nice, but they have no authority or ability to make things right.

They are responsive. As I recall, they are very punctual. I probably would not use them again in the future just based on cost. Once we get past the basic packages, they get very expensive to cover all our doors and windows.

WORST customer service out of their Van Nuys office.  Service issues so bad we had to escalate them to their Residential Sales Manager, Installation Manager and two installation reps.  Took multiple phone calls and e-mails to the ONE person who handled Bel Air Patrol service termination.  Shoddy touch pad, billing errors that they blame on you even when you have automated payments.  The centralized monitoring people are good, but the Van Nuys operation is the WORST.  Installers were no show, late, etc.  We were charged for batteries after being told they were free.  We were never billed for these batteries, until we received a rude and threatening late invoice letter.  TERRIBLE and shady.

We have somebody come out to the house and put things over.  They follow up a couple of times on some issues and I can talk to them.  We were very pleased with that kind of respond.  We like the fact that the community is using it and in general we thought they were professional and convenient.  It can be used by attaching it to the main box and it has a nice features.

They're very good. We had an issue in the beginning because we had a false alarm. They hadn't filed with the police for the alarm system, which they should have. We're still trying to get reimbursed for that and I am not happy about that. However, I am happy about their basic service.

They were pretty good.  One time, I accidentally pushed the alarm when I was trying to get off it.  The fire department arrived within 20 minutes.  So it's really a good response even if it was a false alarm.  They are reliable and professional.  They came as promised and they were on time.  They installed the unit in less than 30 minutes.

Our windows are wired as part of the security system service. We recently changed from single pane to double pane windows in one room and we were told that is best to have ADT disconnect the old windows and then come back after the new windows are installed and reconnect the wires. I tried to find out from ADT what was involved and the cost of doing it. I told them there were five small windows in the room, but it was impossible to find out the final cost.. The cost was $138, first half hour and then $35. every 15 minutes. The open ended rate was , in my opinion much too high and it was terrible to have no idea high high the cost could go. We chose to have the window company disconnect the wires instead. When ADT technician came to reconnect, he said the wire was damaged and they would have to install a wireless system instead. I found out later it would be a cost of $1100 to $1600. We then called another security system company in to get their cost and were told that for them to fix those windows and install their companies new system would be $480. and their monthly charge was lower than ADT Those windows are not now connected, and they are vulnerable for a break-in. All these charges seem outrageous when a new system for a new customer is only $99. We have never had any real problems with their service, but now I feel that we are being taken advantage of by ADT. Trying to get information from them has been difficult, and it was hard to find the right person to talk to. Had we been given more assistance in planning the window disconnect, we might have avoided the problems we encountered. I am now seriously considering switching to another company for our service. After the technician left, not only were those 5 windows not connected, we discovered the large window-door in our kitchen was not connected. Before ADT came it was connected. Don't know what he did.

We thought the quality of the system received was very good considering what we paid. The installation was efficient and the installer was courteous and helpful. We are under a servicing contract, as well, with this company. We are pleased with the service they provide and believe it is the best monitoring company we researched. We have never had any problems with the equipment and when we have questions, it is always quite easy to reach customer service personnel.

I moved out of my home that Brinks Security managed on 9/1/07. I called 8/8/07 to discontinue service. Because of a miscommunication, not only with my office, but with departments, I am being charged from 9/27 10/19, 2007 for $27.99, even though every attempt to cancel service was made, not only by myself, but the owner. What I found remarkable was the basic fact that I personally needed to speak to somebody, had never been focused on as the issue on our numerous phone calls, opposed to the real reason which was a tardy reply from the Owner. I have been receiving messages from 2 assistants that the reason billing continued was my letters were not valid, the owner's letters were not valid and finally I needed to speak to someone directly. Brinks' spokespeople do not give clear, helpful requests. Brinks is a company that seems to focus on "it's not my job" more than "I'd like to help".

I like ADT because they are well known and they are very quick to respond to an emergency. I think my home is safe with their security system and the customer service representatives are always very nice whenever I have to deal with them.
