They were very professional. The owner that gave us the quote was very easy to talk to as well. They had the most fair price out of the several quotes that we got. We thought they were really nice people and did a good job.

The Freon was pumped out of the old unit (recovery and protect environment) then the compressor and fan/coil units were carefully removed. Our existing refrigerant lines were to be reused, so they flushed and purged all of the remaining Freon and oil out of them (about an hour effort). They installed and connected a safety drip pan where the fan/coil would be installed (there was none under the old unit). A new electrical sub-panel was added to provide a local shut-off and to properly terminate the two 50A circuits that previously provided supplemental and emergency heat in the old system. Both areas were thoroughly cleaned-up of accumulated debris before installing the compressor and fan/coil units. Both were installed, some pre-tests run, and then the system was charged with environmentally friendly Freon (Puron). The system was then powered-up and run through a long series of tests. Even with my electronics background, I was impressed with some of the test equipment they were using.

Before we called Total Comfort Systems we called the company we had been using for about five years previously. Their service person said our furnace should not be used because it was unsafe. We called TCS to get a second opinion. David did a thorough inspection and told us that, although the furnace was old and would need to be replaced soon, it could stll be operated safely for the upcoming season. The air conditioner was, however, shot. Now that we have gotten through the heating season we decided to replace the whole system. We picked Total Comfort to to do the work. Kevin Cosgrove is a complete professional. He spent a total of three hours on two visits inspecting our house to give us a proposal and answering a long list of questions.

From the very start Total Comfort Systems was amazing!! The very professional and knowledgeable woman that answers the phone makes you feel like they are there to help you. She gave me a time with a 2 hour window and told me all I needed to know including the usual charge to come out fee. Everything above board and honest and she even told me that she thought it might be the startup capacitor. That afternoon David came out right on time and ready with all his tools in hand. He only went back to the truck once to get a part. NOT twenty times like some repairmen to milk the clock. He totally check out the unit and found that it was exactly as the woman had guessed, the startup capacitor! He told me what it would cost. He then replaced the capacitor and found that the fan was going in reverse. Whoever had worked on the A/C previously had wired it back together wrong. He fixed that and gave a final overall check to make sure all was in working order. He asked if I had any other questions or concerns and made sure that I changing the filters regularly. A very class act and a pleasure to have work for me. He returned with the bill with no added or extra charges and all was complete. I highly recommend Total Comfort Systems for any Air Conditioning or Heating repair or installation. They are truly a gem of a company.
