The Grout Doctor

Did a wonderful job of removing etchings on the kitchen counter.  After the entire job was completed, swirl marks were left on the tile from the honing machine, the grout was not cleaned in the two bathrooms leaving an inconsistent look, and there were still small holes in the tiles which were not filled.  Contractor came back twice to remedy the situation and although the result was much better, the inconsistency in the grout color after cleaning is still very noticeable.  Additionally after each work session, the work area plus sinks were left very dirty and required my time to clean up.  (dirt, caulking residue).  On the final visit the contractor left abruptly (walked out) as he recognized that he could not deliver what he had promised on the original estimate.

They didn't cover anything while they did the work so everything got extremely dirty and even messed up my brand new table. He said his grout was bad so he had to come back another day and put in new grout.  After they left that day I spent 2 hours cleaning up their mess they left behind.  They are not professional and didn't seem regretful after ruining my stuff.  I would never use them again.

I am a very clean person and they made me nervous. They did clean the grout. It is a white floor and white grout. I am weird if I am washing floor and grout, I take my shoes off. You know how much dirt is on the bottom of people's shoes. They were working around the white grout and white tile with their shoes on and I closed my eyes. The job came out good. There were a couple of spots and I said it probably would have been really good if they even just put those booties over their shoes or something. In the rain, you walk outside with a pair of sneakers and it's raining and pouring and you walk in and wipe your feet. The floor is totally black from the bottom of the shoes. I was getting very nervous from that. The end results were good, not the greatest in the world, but it was very good. It was clean. There were a few spots and I didn't like those. They laid paper out so they didn't ruin my wood floors with the shoes because they are wood and they are using chemicals. They laid stuff down so they can walk on it. It came out pretty good, better than I would have done, but they had the machinery. I thought it was a decent price. I would be looking for somebody else in the future.

This was not a good experience unfortunately.  I have Spanish pavers
that I needed stripped and refinished.  I was told they would look like
new.  I also had a shower stall that was supposed to be cleaned, grout
repaired , and sealed.  He was at my home for 3 days. Neither job was done well.  I wish I had never
hired him.  I called the owner to try to rectify.  He said he would call
back and never did.

- Richard was punctual for both his estimate and his work
- He did not pressure us or try to upsell
- He knew details about the original construction of our flooring that he was happy to share, along with maintenance tips.
- He was flexible when I was unable to meet him when the job was complete
- He was proactive about offering an estimate for another service he thought we could use.   
Overall, the Grout Doctor's customer service and professionalism were excellent, and we would be happy to give them business again.

We had one complicated tile repair, which was probably out of their area of specialty, and they did let us know in advance that this area was touch-and-go and the best result may not be able to be obtained, short of replacing those tiles.  I probably should have had the tiles in question replaced by a tile company, so the fact that the result isn't optimal isn't their fault, but they did attempt to fix the problem area to the best of their ability and were diligent in attempting to achieve the best result possible.  In the area of their specialty, they excelled, and I would not only hire them again but recommend them.

Richard has done an amazing job of restoring and saving our 24 year old tile in our kitchen.Richard has done an amazing job of restoring and It is a large kitchen, and we didn't want/need to go thru the expense of redoing the whole thing, just because the grout had stains. We were told by several experts that it was not a grout problem, but a stain problem. Luckily, we discovered The Grout Doctor... Richard came out, cleaned the entire surface, let me choose my own color, and literally painted the new stain color on the grout. Voila! The tile looked brand new. This was done, the first time, several years ago, and when it needs "spiffing up", I call him and he brings it back to life. He is a very nice gentleman, returns his calls quickly, is very clean and efficient, his prices are very good and appropriate, and we would recommend him to everyone who needs his skills.

THE FIRST TIME HE CLEANED THE GROUT, HE DID NOT GET UP ALL THE DIRT SO HE CAME BACK OUT AND TRIED AGAIN. THIS DID NOT HELP. HE ENDED UP DOING ANOTHER PROCEDURE OF PAINTING THE GROUT AT HIS EXPENSE TO MAKE ME HAPPY WITH THE JOB. I DID NOT PAY ANY MORE.
