"Unfortunately there are less than honest people in this world and this is one of them. [Removed Member Name] took advantage of the entire bond system and scammed a hard working man out of his life savings during the recession. [Removed Member Name] asked me to install her maple floor for her. For some reason the two or three other floor contractors that had worked in the home before were not asked to come back (suspicious at the least). I advised her of where she can purchase the floor directly to save some money on the project. She purchased the floor directly without me. We delivered the floor and allowed a few days for inspection by the client and acclimation. We proceeded to install the floor to the manufacturers guidelines. The floor looked great and the pictures had many warm comments. She was concerned about some very minor imperfections in the product that couldn't be seen unless you were 5 inches or less away from the floor (very minor wood checking on a few ends). I contacted the manufacturer and they recognized she was un happy and took full liability with an official letter from the corporate offices releasing me, the installer of any wrong doing. [Removed Member Name] proceeded to demand that I was lying the whole time and went and lied to the bond company about the issue. By the time I was aware I was being scammed for a free floor the bond company awarded her with her demands before even an investigation was done. My lawyer was involved because I was being targeted by the client and the bond company with false accusations. The bond company proceeded in an illegal manor and awarded her with money without ever seeing the floor or hearing from me what happened. It seems this was something that likely happened with the other contractors that were not invited back to continue work. This person knew exactly how to take advantage of the contracting system and did it with no remorse. I was innocent to all parties except her and the un professional bond company. I offered every remedy possible for the situation including receiving and installing a new floor paid for by the manufacturer (as they already took full accountability). The fact that [Removed Member Name] searched me out after this has been handled over 5 years ago and she already took advantage of me so she could have a free floor shows this is a personal attack. In 14 years of business this is the ONLY person to ever have a complaint with the work done in their house. As a business owner I strive to make ever floor perfect and to please every client I do business with. This is one person that will obviously never be happy."
That Finishing Touch did a fantastic job at our house! They were professional, on time, on schedule and did an absolutely beautiful job on the travertine tile in the bathtub/shower combo. Gabe from That Finishing Touch didn't just install the travertine that we had-he designed a beautiful tub (travertine from top of the tub to the ceiling, including a" nitch" for soap or shampoo) that we are proud of.
In addition and this is very important to me, they left our house clean, clean, clean!
I liked knowing that it would be only Gabe (the owner) and his one or two employees in our house (he didn't sub the demo out to another company). I felt very comfortable knowing they were in our house-I didn't feel the need to check on them or be home every minute there were working.
That Finishing Touch is more than a tile and flooring install company-they are craftsman.
I would use them again and again and I would refer them to my closest friends.
