Excellent. We scheduled appointment for 4 days later (my choice) and they had me in and done within 60 minutes, whereas Toyota took 2-5 hours and charged over twice as much!

Rick came over in his truck, started the car for me and recommended some one to put in a new key mechanism, he could have had my car towed which will cost me around $500.00 however he gave me personalized service.

He did a thorough overview on the car, did some minor repairs, and did an amazing job. And the car has been in excellent shape since then.

They are good and I do recommend them. I like him. My wife introduced him to me, her ex goes there too. I'd give his 44th review. I would rate him excellent in every respect. My car is older, when ever I've had problems whether it was making noise or whatever, he took it right away and bam it was done and reasonably priced. He's probably the best mechanic I've been to and I'm old. For punctuality, I understand he doesn't get up on time to take his kids to school, but I'd say an "A". I would absolutely use them again. Bottom line I would say he does everything well. And he's able to see me when I call when I'm worried about something. So he'll say bring it on in, worst case I'll bring it in the next day, he's terrific.

went well. Had to wait a week for an appointment, but the car went in and was worked on as agreed.

I am always pleased with Rick's Japanese Car Care as they are honest and do right things. Sometimes I would ask for some extra service and they would tell me it is not necessary...I guess I was brain-washed by the dealership!

They are great. They are awesome. I had the car towed there on a Friday night and when they got in to work Monday morning, I left a note and I was able to call them and they were able to get on it and they had it ready for me by that night. It was ready to go.

This was our first time using Ricks Japanese Car Care and the overall impression was very positive. We scheduled and met with Don who came across as very professional. They offer rides home/to work if leaving car for the day. Our car was ready on time and the price was better than any other location. It was practically cheaper than doing the oil change myself.

He said there wasn't much they could do because, at 259,000 miles, my transmission was starting to go bad and it would be $3,000 to put in a new transmission.

Had recently moved and was looking for a good independent mechanic in our area. Found Rick's Japanese Car Care on Angie's List.
Used them twice already and have had a great experience each time.
Their service and quality of work is excellent.and extremely friendly and accommodating.

Honesty + Competency = Substantial Savings, is an equation that holds particularly true in automotive repair. Unfortunately, most shops, even the better rated ones, do not live up to this standard of performance. In fact, before going to Rick's Japanese I went to four (4) other establishments that were either "A" rated with Angie's, were highly qualified (Honda dealer) and/or "5 star" rated with Yelp.com and all were disappointments either because they misdiagnosed (even when the PO452 code was given to all of them) or they were too expensive.
Discount Auto (Redland) were way off by stating the car needed a new charcoal canister and solenoid. Sal's Auto Repair in Fontana said they would "have to drop the whole fuel tank to get to the sensor," with is not true, and asked for 2.5 times the labor compared to Rick's. Spreen Honda in Loma Linda wanted well over $600 for the job: Dealers are seldom a good deal (lol). Vererka's Auto Service, Upland, charged me $60 just to give me the PO452 code - the same code I supplied to them at the beginning of their "work" - and told me to come back to get a further diagnosis and pay more money. I've known that the code is an "evaporative emission control system pressure low" PO452 for months from my mechanic in another State, and told everyone who looked at the car, including Vererka's, when making the appointment(s) with them. To be charged $60 for something that you already know and only takes two minutes to perform and verify seems unreasonable. (I was given the impression that they were going to do a real diagnosis.) Auto Zone does it for free and even Spreen Honda threw on the OBD Reader for nothing. The aforementioned is merely a synopsis and the ordeal included calls to other repair places, as well.
The high standard of honesty, competency and value was only achieved by Rick's Japanese Car Care; they did and brilliantly so. Do yourself a favor by hiring them. You will lower your stress level and end up with more $$ in your wallet. I traveled over 190 miles round trip to have them replace the FTP sensor and it was far more than worth the drive. Kind Regards to Rick, Don and the crew.
