Great, Mike was straightforward and easy to work with. They started the project when they said they would, kept the same start and finish times each day and completed the project on time. They were very professional and the quality of the work is great.

Mike and crew arrived early each of the four days prepared to work. Mike was an active part of this work group. They performed like a well oiled team. They were courteous and easy to communicate with. Clean up happened at the end of each day. Am happy with the result. The brick work exactly matched other existing work in the yard.

I selected Mike Power's company from Angie's list and contacted him through the online messaging of this website. The next day I received Mike's response and he came at the mutually arranged time to estimate project efforts and costs. A of couple weeks later I contracted with him for this project and he started exactly at the day and time he had promised. Also, the project took exactly  the two days he projected for it.  Mike and his crew impressed me with their professionalism, courteous manners, and, above all, with the result of their work.  Should anyone I know need those services that Mike Power is providing, I will cheerfully recommend Mike to him.

He is a good guy. It was a really good deal. It was a very fair price. Excellent value. He did exactly what he said he was going to do at a price that was much better than anybody else. He knew what he was doing. I was totally satisfied.

With family coming into town over the holidays and El Nino on the way, it was a bad time to find out the house and yard drainage were damaged. I contacted several vendors to get the walkway concrete replaced. Mike powers was the most responsive vendor, even more surprising since he had a long backlog of work already scheduled. He was honest about his schedule and timing, and understanding when I was able to get the work done by another vendor just prior to family and weather arriving. I would contact Mike Powers again about any future work.

Reasonable quote, responsive.  just ended up going with another firm that would also do the shingles as well as the concrete work.

We had a serious drainage problem in an existing large gazebo.  The existing drain was beyond repair and digging it up would have required a much more expensive solution.  Mike suggested a large French drain in place of the existing drain opening and installed one that was 18" square and 4 feet deep, then closed with a 12" surface drain cover.  Work was neat and the surface concrete is an excellent match for the existing surface.

We asked for color and it did not turn out the way it was on the sample card. They kept blaming various things, like the cement mixing company, on why the color didn't show up, but nothing was ever resolved. If you're not wanting color concrete, Mike Power's is a decent provider.

I did find them on Angie's List last summer. I think he did a great job. He was professional, punctual and willing to work with the needs that we had which was a little bit challenging. It was not just your random, run-of-the-mill, easy sidewalk.

We've had Mike do several projects for us.  I am an architect and work with a lot of contractors.  Mike is pro among pro's.  In my line of work I've had to deal with incompetent contractors who provide low ball pricing and then look for ways to cut corners to increase their profits and/or minimize their loss.  That corner cutting results in poor quality workmanship, project delays, etc.  Mike knows his business and provides a fair price for a job done right.   His knowledge, experience and professionalism isn't factored into the price.... it comes for free and is of incredible value.

It is a pleasure to work with Mike and his crew.   They are prompt, courteous, and quick.   During construction the job site is orderly and clean.   When they are done with their work they leave the site like they found it.  We will be calling Mike for our next project!

It went great.  Everyone arrived on time.  Being on time was a big deal to Mike.  They worked hard, fast but with much care to detail.  Everyone was extremely respectful.  When the job was done, Mike offered to take extra materials back to Home Depot for refund.  This was great because I do not have a truck.  The ONLY problem with the work was that one block out of over 250 blocks was not set correctly but the problem was easily corrected.

From the beginning Mike Power was easy to work with. He was very professional and a genuinely nice guy. He provided detailed information about the job in his estimate and completed all work as stated. He was punctual and the work was of high quality. The tree roots to be removed were large and required quite a bit of doing to get out.
After the job, I noticed a break in the sprinkler line  by the new walkway. Apparently, the workers had severed a sprinkler pipe in the course of removing the roots. I spoke to Mike about this a few days later and he came out and looked at it and immediately said he would fix it. The following Monday, he did just that and there have been no problems since. I would say he is a man who has a high investment in quality work and good customer relationships.

The hardest part was working with the City of Camarillo to get the permit. Mike gave me an estimate of $2200 if I got the insurance and permit and $3200 if he carried the insurance and got the permit. I ask Mike to carry the insurance which he said would add $200 to the cost. After I got the permit Mike added an additional $100 for his work on the paperwork for the City of Camarillo.
The City of Camarillo requires:
An encroachment permit signed by the person doing the concrete work (costs: $65 for issuance fee and $282 for inspection fee)
Liability insurance with language that says that the person that does the concrete work is primary.
A sketch of the work to be done.
The City of Camarillo provided me an example of the forms that I had to fill out.
The actual concrete work was completed in a day. Mike brought in 4 or 5 guys to help him. They hauled away the old concrete and did a good job cleaning up afterward. The quality of the concrete work was excellent. After the job was completed they put out cones and tape to keep people out of the wet concrete. 2 days later they came to remove the tape, cones and support forms.

They are really good. Their quote was just too high. They were professional and thorough. They spoke a lot about quality and he listened to what I wanted done. He was very professional and everything worked well. If the price was lower, I would use them.

He provided a verbal quote and he did admit that he was expensive. It's possible that he doesn't like to do small jobs like my backyard. He did not seem too hungry for the work. Two days later another contractor came out with a much lower quote and much more enthusiasm about the result I would get for the money.
