"Thank you, Mike Power"
We've had Mike do several projects for us. I am an architect and work with a lot of contractors. Mike is pro among pro's. In my line of work I've had to deal with incompetent contractors who provide low ball pricing and then look for ways to cut corners to increase their profits and/or minimize their loss. That corner cutting results in poor quality workmanship, project delays, etc. Mike knows his business and provides a fair price for a job done right. His knowledge, experience and professionalism isn't factored into the price.... it comes for free and is of incredible value.
It is a pleasure to work with Mike and his crew. They are prompt, courteous, and quick. During construction the job site is orderly and clean. When they are done with their work they leave the site like they found it. We will be calling Mike for our next project!
After the job, I noticed a break in the sprinkler line by the new walkway. Apparently, the workers had severed a sprinkler pipe in the course of removing the roots. I spoke to Mike about this a few days later and he came out and looked at it and immediately said he would fix it. The following Monday, he did just that and there have been no problems since. I would say he is a man who has a high investment in quality work and good customer relationships.
The City of Camarillo requires:
An encroachment permit signed by the person doing the concrete work (costs: $65 for issuance fee and $282 for inspection fee)
Liability insurance with language that says that the person that does the concrete work is primary.
A sketch of the work to be done.
The City of Camarillo provided me an example of the forms that I had to fill out.
The actual concrete work was completed in a day. Mike brought in 4 or 5 guys to help him. They hauled away the old concrete and did a good job cleaning up afterward. The quality of the concrete work was excellent. After the job was completed they put out cones and tape to keep people out of the wet concrete. 2 days later they came to remove the tape, cones and support forms.
