The overall project turned out looking nice but there were some solid bumps along the way. The grill is just now working and only after my friend figured out that they had used the wrong conversion kit for natural gas grill. It took more than one meeting to convince them that I did not like a lot of hardscaping and then I was charged a lot more (~$1000) to put in ground cover--which should have been included in the original estimate. It seems like the big picture stuff all went pretty well but there were a lot of punch list type issues that I am just dealing with myself vs continuing to take off work to meet with them. There is a 1 inch gap on both sides of my built in grill. It looks like someone didn't measure it correctly; One of the stones on my raised bed is loose; the back side of the counter for the grill is just tile sort of overhanging by a 1/2 inch; something is going on with the drainage such that water pools on my patio; every iteration of the design included bamboo but when I asked where it was toward the end, she charged me extra $200.00 to go buy the bamboo; they told another worker on my property to use the trash bin they rented and then charged me $250.00 for going overweight. The list of nickel and dime charges and annoyances sort of goes on and I just got tired of it. I was made to feel like a jerk for asking that things be tightened up and after spending 20k on this project, I am just tired of dealing with it. It looks pretty but we will be working on it ourselves to finish up where Hawkeye just kind of fizzled out. I had already recommended them to a friend before the job "finished" (subject to interpretation considering I get to go mix up mortar to keep that stone from falling on my dog someday). I'm not sure if my friend is going to go forward using Hawkeye but I will be sure to warn her to be prepared to watch a little more closely as they get near the end of the job.

It went very well.  Jeri was very professonal and easy to work with.  She took our inputs and created a drawn plan for the yards.  As she had indicated, as the yards were cleaned out, you see the yard differently.  As a result, we wanted to make some changes to the original plan.  Jeri did not mind the changes and worked with us on them.

Our yard needed a lot of help. We had a few sad plants, an old brick fireplace, and a whole lot of pavers. Geri brought us some great design ideas and transformed our backyard. She updated the fireplace, applied a stucco finish, and added a little seating wall to create a cozy conversation space. She was also able to reuse the pavers we had, and created beds with lots of beautiful plants and fruit trees. I was impressed with what Geri was able to accomplish with our limited budget, and we couldn't be happier with the results!

Project went well form start to finish. Contractor is very easy to work with and knowldegable. Her workmen are both efficient and skilled. Every aspect of the project was completed as agreed to, on time and on budget. We are very pleased with the results.

Having their own employees do the work I believe was key.  The work was done with care and showed pride.  They were very professional, easy to work with, always on time and never left a mess.  We pestered them with some changes along the way and they were very receptive and helpful.

They have made it a very personal experience. I felt when we were talking about the design she was talking about things that we could do to our house, taking into account things that we wanted to do and wanted to accomplish. She is designing for us as opposed to doing the same thing from fifteen other projects. I am spending more than I would have with another company, but I am getting five times the service.
