Steve inspected our new home and missed a serious and obvious structural issue with the house: Missing patio and gable support post that left the patio and gable sagging 3 inches and not structurally sound or to code. He offered to refund the inspection fee. I got a quote for over $13,000 and gave him a copy. He then submitted an insurance claim to his carrier. The adjuster came out and I have heard nothing for 6 months. Steve won't answer his phone when I call or return calls or emails. Everyone misses something now and then, but at least own up to your error.

Scheduled the appointment for a home inspection with Diane. She contacted me to confirm the appointment the day before. Very professional and friendly. Steve arrived before the appointment time and immediately got to work. He spent 5 hours thoroughly inspecting the inside and outside of the home and pool. He took the time to stop and point things out when he saw them and explained in detail the issue. After the inspection, he went through his findings, explained the issues and pointed out problems. Steve Kincaid is the most thorough and professional home inspector I have ever met. He inspected a 2,600 sq ft custom home with swimming pool.  He spent over four hours including abbreviated debrief at our request. His attention to detail is only matched by his courtesy and professionalism.  He wore booties to cover his shoes whilst inside the house and was discrete when pointing out findings. He displayed extensive knowledge of plumbing, electrical and home safety matters. His typed up report arrived at 4:48a.m. on the day promised. I don't think you can go wrong with Crystal Home Inspections. N.B.  Their web site shows their address as Thousand Oaks, not Westlake.
