DON'T DO IT! There are so many better places right around the corner,
which I had to find out the hard way. PC Heaven has a ton of positive
reviews and they are so professional ... should have gone there first. I
have long list of complaints but I will try and be brief. Brought
computer in, first I'm  told it's a hard drive. That gets replaced.
Still problems.  Then he tells me it's the power source. That gets
replaced.  Still problems. Then says it's just the whole computer. Ok.
Buy a new computer. Because I was leaving for out of town I left the new
computer in the box for the owner Lawrence to transfer my data. When I
get it back, it's got all kinds of problems including a constant message
that my Windows OS isn't genuine.  Return that computer, purchase a new
one. Now I still need a new email system. So I try Thunderbird out,
which is great,  but the  owner tells me my emails can't be transferred
to this email system I need to buy Outlook since I am transferring from
Windows Mail. (Despite that all over the internet is says it is
possible.)  Ok so now I need to purchase Outlook in order to have my
entire email files, folders, contacts etc transferred over.  So I
purchase Outlook and it takes the owner three days to transfer my email.
 He tried to charge me for this but I had to remind him this was still
part of the data transfer onto the new computer. After I bring it home I
realize my contacts weren't transferred! So frustrated, I go back and
tell him. He just looks at me and shrugs his shoulders, (something he
does a lot,) and says he doesn't want to work on my computer anymore.
What?! Says he will send me a refund. Well it's been 2 weeks, no refund.
  If you know a lot about computers then maybe you can work with
someone like this, but if you don't this is THE WORST place to go. He
barely speaks to you, doesn't explain anything, shrugs his shoulders a
lot and clearly he either has very limited knowledge, or simply doesn't
want to spend the time to really fix problems.  He's worse than Geek
Squad, at least there they can't just refuse to finish the work because
they don't feel like it or are too lazy to.  Lawrence is so rude and
condescending, uncommunicative and has no customer service skills. And
let's not forget he lied about my refund.  You have been warned. Don't
waste your time and money.

He had my computer all day but the problem did not occur.  He logged my computer on to 2 different networks and checked the log which showed no errors.  Even though he made no diagnosis as the problem didn't occur, he still charged me $50.  I'm out of pocket as the credit card warranty department won't reimburse me if there's no diagnosis or repair estimate as he couldn't find anything to repair.  I was wiling to pay him for his time (how long does it take to log onto 2 networks and check the logs) but feel $50 was too much for him to tell me "I don't know"!  He then offered to charge me another $110 to do a restore (with no guarantee that would fix the problem that he couldn't find!?).

Lawrence responded that I'd been to 2 other repair places that weren't able to fix the problem which is not true.  I went to Best Buy where I bought the computer to try their wifi and experienced the same problem.  They suggested I buy an external wifi adapter which I did and went home with it and the problem didn't occur hence the reason I took it to Lawrence to do a diagnosis.  As he stated, the problem didn't happen while he had it.  He states that it's not a hardware issue but he doesn't know that as he doesn't know what the problem is.  My roommate is not having any issues and I did have the issue at Best Buy.  I'm not going to pay another $130 for him to do something 1.  I can do myself and 2. He has no idea if this will fix the problem that he couldn't find.

"Everything [removed member name] said is true. There is a minimum service fee of $50 which she was aware of before we began that gets added into the repair cost not as an additional fee. I was able to connect her wifi enabled laptop to multiple networks without any problems. She had been to 2 other repair places that were not able to fix her problem. I offered to restore her computer back to factory and run all the updates for a 2 hour charge $80 per hour. The diagnostic fee would be included. Seeing that it wasn't a hardware issue and I was not able to get it to drop off the internet I determined that it must be environmental on her end, though she did say that other wireless devices at her site that didnt have any issues. She did not want to pay me to do the system factory restore therefore we could not go further with a repair. I also offered to do the restore for 30 days as a customer satisfaction should she change her mind."

They were great. I have been using them for years (probably the first time right after they opened way back when), but had moved out of the area, but it paid to make the trip to have my computer fixed correctly.
